    Modded 2WD?

I know most of the folks around here are 'wheelers. But surely there must be some folks who have tweaked their 2WD rigs. My 'wheeling days vanished with my last FSJ. So I'm looking for inspiration for what to do with this KJ. From what I've seen, options are very limited.

Trailer hitch but no plug for wiring

I just had the N46 recall done yesterday. It wasn't until I saw this thread that I realized they didn't put the wiring in for the hitch. I'll have to get the harness from a different dealer though. The one that did the recall work tried to rip me off in the process. Told me I needed new belts...

    Headlight polish

Meguiar's Headlight Correction kit. It definitely takes a bit of work. But it is well worth the $15 it cost me. I didn't take "before" pictures. But my headlights looked about the same as my foglights. So this picture shows how well the kit worked. Got the kit at O'Reilly. I'm sure it's...

    KJ cabin filter installed

I just learned something that could be helpful. If you go to K&N's site and put in your vehicle information it shows you all the filters they offer for your application. But it also lets you request additional products. If enough of us go there and request a cabin air filter maybe they will...

    Fabricating extended boxed control arms

That's what I would think too. New control arms are relatively cheap. But setting up mounts with the correct geometry would be the difficult part.

    Fabricating extended boxed control arms

VERY mini. As in, just a bit more suspension and a bit more power. Definitely nothing that would compete anywhere. Kind of like if the factory had offered a "Baja" edition.

    Living with it

Pink camo would be hawt. I say go for it. Add a horn that squeals like a pig. :)

    Living with it

Don't let my wife see that. She'll want a set for mine.

    Living with it

I know it is based off some Euro buggy. I said it *looks* like Jeep's version of a Neon. It has the same bulbous, smiley-face frontend.

    Living with it

I finally figured out what it is about the Liberty that bothers me... it looks like Jeep's version of the Neon. That double-DIN panel looks nice. Can't beat the price. I may order one this weekend. No idea when I'll get a radio for it, but at least I'll have the panel.

    Living with it

I would definitely be interested. That opens up a lot of options for upgrades. What did it cost? Any pictures of the installation?

    Living with it

I never cared for the XJ. My Cherokees were the original FSJ variety. That's the plan. I've heard it's a competent wheeler. But that isn't really what I'm after. Which is why I just sold my last Cherokee, a '76. This Limited is 2WD, so it's limited (hah! see what I did there?) in offroad...

    Project: My crazy Jeep

Have you ever considered air suspension like we run on the big rigs? A self-levelling valve means your ride height stays the same no matter what the load is. And the ride is the same too. It'd be great for an application where the load changes as drastically as it does for you.

How did you end up with your KJ?

I kinda feel guilty about it honestly. Wife's nephew "owned" it. It was in my MIL's name. The kid got tired of it, complained about the weird handling. So they sold it to me for $1 and leased a new Tacoma. I fixed the "weird handling" and clunking by lubing the front swaybar. Put new tires on...

    Fabricating extended boxed control arms

Are the 2WD and 4WD control arms the same? Because if somebody figures out a long-travel kit for the 4x4 I'd love to adapt it to my 4x2. That's the route I want to take with mine. I don't do crawling or trail rides. But I do like going fast on less than ideal surfaces. Which includes many of the...

    Living with it

Having owned three Cherokees and a Wagoneer, I'm no stranger to Jeeps. Frankly, my "hand me down" '03 Limited does not quite live up to the legend in my eyes. But I've decided to make the best of it by turning into something that makes me giggle. So I'm here to learn the quirks of this little buggy.
