First, thank you very much to all you hard-working Americans who paid your taxes... This is what i did with my extra combat pay this last year:
The great folks at Allen's Automotive (Mike and Dennis) in Dunnville, Ontario took their time (not in a negative way) and really did a class job...
They do pop up once in a while, just keep looking. I got a heck of a deal... Lightly scratched, everything needed, delivered for $650!
Welcome to KJ Country too!\\:D/
Keep hanging out here (and other Jeep forums) also. I know I'm going to have my brush guard (Aries, I think) for an '05 to '07 up for sale in Nov or so, after I put the ARB on (That I just got a screaming deal for!).
Don't worry about what other people say about building a truck for looks...
If you don't find anything before October, I am going to have one free (you pay postage) once I put my Rubicon rims on. It's black with "Jeep" in white lettering, in good condition and will fit up to a 31" tire
If you look in the pics, you can see they mount to the small screws that hold your tail light lens assembly on. If I decide to get serious with mine, I'll have a buddy weld small tabs on the bodywork so I can have more solid, but removable, mounting points for the guards.
The aftermarket ones I got (forget what brand) are metal, but unfortunately the method for attachment doesn't really allow for much strength, therefore not as much protection as you'd expect.
Before I decided to trade my uninstalled Skyjacker lift in for JBA Adjust-A-Strut 2 1/2" lift set-up, i had bought Boiler's 3/8" front strut spacers. I'm going to take Boiler's advice and shoot an email to Marlin but, does anyone (especially those with JBA AAS) have opinions or theory as to...
Yes, I do have to say Marlin is a great salesman. Even though, my plan from the beginning was to do a suspension lift once, the right way. With Marlin's honesty about the Skyjackers, combined with the couple of folks who've installed and now live with the Adjust-a-Strut (and seem happy), the...
OK, after a string of emails with Marlin (and, yes, I asked about the prematurely failing front springs), he is going to take a return on my Skyjacker front lift, and I'm going to pull the trigger on the Adjust-a-Strut front lift.
He did say he has not heard anything about failing front...
Not a problem at all. I'll just have to take a look at my situation and figure out a plan of attack (I have no real idea when I'm going to get an ARB Bumper. It may actually be a year or longer)!
Thanks everyone for the info.
Question about OME + Skyjacker parts PROBLEM FIXED.... Just throw money at it!
OK, first thing: I want to appologize for not quite doing my homework (I did do a lot of searching on the threads, but obviously not enough).
Second: I want to thank Rev. Mudd and the other folks for the advice...
I hope this link is good (I can't verify becasue you can't access flea-bay on a government computer, but this might do the trick if you want a "chocolate chip" tire cover. These are the desert camouflage covers for the ALICE rucksacks, as used in desert storm. If I remember right, they are...
