In Channel vs. Stick on Ventvisor?

I've actually taken visors back before when I found out they were in-channel type. I've had bad experiences with the in-channel type. But the stick on type has always worked GREAT for me. I'd vote stick-on.

    Low Range

It works best when you are in neutral, rolling forward 1-2 mph, and you shift directly into 4-low. Also remember there is a shift "gate" there, so you can't just pull straight back on the shifter. You have to pull the shifter to the right (toward the transmission shifter) and pull backwards...

    More towing questions

I'm not getting nasty about it. I just saw that he mentioned a 3,500 lb. weight and no one had said anything to him about trailer brakes which would obviously be important. Not "optional" in that case. Wasn't trying to flame anyone. Wiring up the brake controller is a mess...a good days work...

    More towing questions

You mean they actually sell 3,500 lb. campers that don't have trailer brakes as standard equipment? :-s Wow. That's unbelieveable. Yeah you can tow it without brakes, but 1.) it WILL wear out your brake pads in a hurry. so you'll have to check those often. and 2.) IF you have a deer run...

    More towing questions

Well, I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet or not, but you WILL want to wire up a trailer brake controller inside your Jeep and wire that into your 6 or 7-pin harness that goes below the rear bumper. The bad news is...if your Jeep did not come with the factory towing package, it may...

basic tire question for ordering new Liberty

Agreed. Any tire you get stock will be junk. So take the cheapest ones you can get...drive straight to a tire shop...and trade them in on some real ATs.

Handlebar above the glove-box to older models

The true reason for this bar is to serve as a handle to stabilize yourself with while off-road. Many other off-road trucks have them as well...not the least of which is the GM trucks. When you are bouncing around on the trail it's a really nice feature. That's why it's there. If you don't...

    Bye, Bye Goodyears! (new Pictures)

My current tires are 5-ply tread/ 2-ply sidewalls. They weigh 42.5 lbs. each. The stock Goodyears weighed only 25 lbs. each if that tells you anything. Scary!

    Trailer Ball Mount Issue

I bought a 14" ball mount. www.ontheball.com I only paid $20 for it I think and it works perfectly without decreasing your towing capacity.

    General Grabber AT2s are SWEET.

Like I was telling someone in another forum.. The pavement type is different depending on where you live. But I can say this much... here in Kentucky I have to actually try to break the tires free when it's raining. And sometimes I still can't do it. Impact on mpg is hard to calculate...

    gas mileage

I have gone 460 miles before on a single tank. My wife's 3.7L will go 300 miles or so in the summer time. 250 or so in the winter.

    Lifted Liberty, Insurance woes!

If I total my KJ and survive, I'll probably get another KJ so I'll probably request to remove the lift kit from my Jeep before the insurance company claims it. LOL. So I'll probably get busted. But anyhow.. Thanks. The magazines will never believe in the ability of the KJ. They don't...

Anybody here run your own Sirius antenna??

So if you run the wire through the 3rd brake light, there won't be any leakage of water into the headliner??

    Lifted Liberty, Insurance woes!

I completely understand what you are saying and it makes good sense. And I mean no disrespect either. I just think the odds of an insurance adjuster being able to pick out my 1.5" spacer blocks as opposed to the factory 0.5" spacer blocks are little to none. A huge lift kit on a different 4x4...

    oil filter on 05 CRD

Actually it's the transmission skid plate that covers the oil filter. your dealership should be able to get it for you. if you search the forums you can also find the part number for the skid plate.

    Lifted Liberty, Insurance woes!

Yeah, but I'm like him...how the heck are they even going to know? The average person could not look at my 2.5" lift spacers and tell that they are not factory equipment. The only possible way that they would know you have a lift is if the insurance adjuster that comes to look at your Jeep...

Trading the TJ for a KJ

I agree. Every V6 4x4 I've ever owned has averaged 16-17 miles per gallon. My wife's '04 Liberty V6 averages about 15 in the winter, and 17 in the summer. So you will be loosing mileage unless you get the CRD engine in a Liberty. Tires...you can squeeze 245/70-16s on a stock Liberty. And...
