Has anyone successfully lowered the front seats?

I think I remember reading somewhere that the average guy in America is something like 5'11" or 6'0"..... so for the most part, they design the vehicles for someone at or near that height. I'm 6'2" so it could be a little higher and it still wouldn't bother me. Probably not what you want to...

    Test Drive

Well.... if I didn't need 4 doors, I'd have a Wrangler (Unlimited) as my daily driver..... just 'cause I'm a hard core Wrangler fan. BUT.... I have to admit that it was the test drive of the Liberty that sold me. I was one of those "that's not a real Jeep" kind of people until I found out...

    Proper AC Usage

Here's the deal... The first setting (recirculation) doesn't draw (as much) air from outside... the other settings all draw air primarily from the outside, so they are changing the temperature of whatever the outside temp is.... obviously when it's HOT outside, they can't cool the air as much...

Explanation of the Command trac and select trac

I don't know what the manual says, but IMO, wet pavement (concrete, ashpalt, etc.) is NOT slippery enough to engage the 4WD (Command-Trac, etc. part-time 4WD). Think of it this way... if you're not WORRIED about getting stuck or just spinning your tires, you don't want to engage the 4WD. Luis

    Where are all the Trac-Locs?

I know that they had to SEARCH to find what I insisted was mandatory..... which was 1) 4x4 (only ~ 1/4 were 4x4 down here in Florida) 2) Tow Pkg. (was on about 1/5 of the 3.7L engine models) 3) Trac-Loc (There was only one on the dealers lot with this.. and it was a Limited) 4) Silver or the...

    Advice: Subaru vs Jeep

"I hated them for going from the great 4.0L inline 6 to the new V6 3.7 L..." EXACTLY! Been there myself. <raises hand to be recognized>... Hi. I'm from "CJ & Wrangler owners who didn't like Cherokee's and despised KJ's until they drove one anonymous"... my name is.... Luis ps... having...

    Advice: Subaru vs Jeep

Speaking as a LONG time CJ/Wrangler owner... ya gotta realize that Wrangler fans HATE any radical change... we hated it when they went to square headlights (the YJ), we hated it when they went to coil springs (TJ), Most of the TJ owners didn't like the Unlimited's when they came out...

    Back End vs. Front End

Bennett... do I understand you correctly? If my interpretation is correct, this means you can raise the front end 5/8" (and "level the vehicle) by lowering the clevis that much? What else would this entail? I guess the headlights would have to be re-adjusted for height (aiming)... would this...

Steering (lock to lock) turn question.

ok... I'm coming from many years in CJ's/TJ... I admit that the Liberty turns just as tight, but it seems like it takes more turns of the steering wheel to get it to do so... I feel like when I make a tight turn, that I'm turning, and turning, and turning, and turning..... is there any way to...

Replies to Tightwadsjeeper (how he found his two KJ's!)

HOLY CRAP!!!! ok... I guess $1600 isn't too bad.... it's just that back when we lived in Gainesville, I had my Jeep (CJ7) insured for the whopping sum of .... drum roll please.... $307 per year. When we insured my wife's Civic, we were paying something like $850 annually for the pair of...

    2005 question

My wife's '05 Sport (Package C) with the 3.7 has the 3.73 gearing... my '05 Renegade RME (Package C) has the 3.7 with 3.55..... you can DEFINITELY tell the difference... her's is "zippier" from a stop. You'll get WORSE mileage out of the 3.55 if you try to compensate for it by smashing the go...

245/75 or 255/70 on lifted Liberty?

CB 4017, that's a nice ride!! Are you using stock rims with that (16" x 7")? If so (they look like the stock rims), are you using any wheel spacers (doesn't look like it), and if not, do you have any rubbing at full lock, or did you have to adjust the wheel stops? Is that a 2" lift? Luis
