Slotted Rotors and Mud. Do they mix?

I believe the issue might have been your pad/rotor combination. I have the PowerSlot rotors and Adaptive One Ceramics and have zero dust problems-- both in the slots and in the wheel in general. I'm not an expert on all the different kinds of pads out there, but I do know that some pads really...

    A/C problem

I'm assuming this remains relatively static on all KJ years: Under hood: On passenger side firewall, a large silver cannister with 3(?) hoses coming out of it, a couple go into the firewall which connect to the condenser: that's the accumulator. Right below that is a small rubber hose...

    A/C problem

The accumulator and condensation drain is on the passenger side firewall... I'm thinking something may be clogged or damaged? My understanding is that your compressor won't cut on at all if you're too low on refrigerant. Are you dripping condensate from the normal drip hose on the firewall...

    EVAP System issues

Do tell, what is the trick with throttle body cleaner to find intake leaks?

Gassers, where does your temp guage sit?

Now that I got my scangauge my temp sits right around 200f. It'll drop to 195-197 or so on long downhill coasts, and go up to 202 to 203 on uphill runs. Can't wait to see what it does when I go over Snoqualmie later this summer... or when I go 4 wheeling up the mountains.

    Fuel saving suggestions.

You're almost exactly where I am. On super long roadtrips I can get between 20 and 21 mpg. But city driving it's hard for me to get over 16. Just too much idle/start/stop here.

Adaptive One or NAPA Ultra Premium - Ceramic

I have the Powerslot slotted rotors and Adaptive one pads. I'm perfectly happy with them. Had them for a little over a year now and no complaints whatsoever. I haven't done any scientific testing such as 60-0 stopping time/distance, but I've had to brake hard with them a few times and haven't...

Slotted Rotors and Mud. Do they mix?

Mud doesn't go well with much of anything. I love my slotted rotors, but I avoid mud like the plague. I'm trying to maintain my "Never been stuck" streak.

Starter problems? Need help confirming the culprit...

Shit, good catch. OP: You may just have a bad battery. Jeep does crazy things when batter is bad. Tons of threads on here about it. If you drained your battery twice, it's done. Swap it out.

how to remove transfer case selection knob?

You guys don't know sh*t. This is how I remove stuff when I can't get it loose:

Starter problems? Need help confirming the culprit...

After dissecting your message and finding that you replaced the battery, yes, it could be the starter. Not impossible to remove and test. I did it with my Hello Kitty socket set. Just remove front drive shaft. I believe the manual claims you have to do something crazy to remove the starter...

    Service Contracts After 100,000 miles

x2. This is a case where this warranty "sounds good", so go over the fine print with a fine-assed tooth comb.

    My Scangauge II just arrived...

As to cost: $155 from Amazon (not inc. tax). Free shipping but 9.5% sales tax... ouch. Thing is awesome. I was toying with the idea of getting gauges for the KJ but this *almost* eliminates the need. I say almost, because it has no tranny temp which I would dearly love. But it is...

    My Scangauge II just arrived...

...three years I've been waiting to buy this thing. Three years of looking at the web page. Three years teaches a man to hate... Oh but seriously, my scangauge just came in and I'm completely stoked. Now I've got gauges for so many things that I have no idea what they mean. I drove to...

Please help me with this troubleshooting code!

I'd seriously consider replacing the TPS (throttle position sensor). The TPS is located on the Throttle body right over the manifold. There are several sensors there, and I don't have a picture, but someone here will tell you exactly which sensor it is.

    Service Contracts After 100,000 miles

Maybe he's worried about it falling apart at 125,000 miles. But to the OP: I'm a strong opponent of extended service contracts. They're very much like gambling. You buy one hoping (or expecting) your vehicle to break within the timeframe of the contract, they sell you one on the...

    control arm removal

x2. Alignment is a lot like working on AC. Some things are meant for professionals with stuff like lasers and superheterodyne cosmic platinum plated dilithium machines to do. There are some good mechanics here, and they'd all have it done at a shop.

    Scott Patent State Forest

They rarely do. It's actually tricky to get good photos which show the severe angles or roughness of the trail. I went up a hill so steep I was white knuckled the whole way. Think the pics did any justice? Nope, looked like I was goin' up my driveway.

water pump pulley looks loose and is squealing

Thanks, BjBnet. My ship will come in... one day. As for your question, no I haven't heard of where which water pumps are manufactured. I just bought a new one from O'Reilly when mine went out because it was my daily driver and I couldn't wait for even 2nd day air to bring in another one. I...
