    Tire Q's

I was answering a lady who just wants to creep around SAFELY. I'd never assume to offer you advice. :mwah1: And yes, they are perfectly acceptable for dry road use during the cold winter months. Here in AR they are only legal for Nov,Dec,Jan, Feb. Which is the only time a sane person would...

    Plasti Dipped wheels!

Perhaps I just blessed to live in the wonderful rural Arkansas sticks. A local (40 miles at least) professional powder coat shop did my Silverado SS aluminums for $35. each. Guaranteed not to peel, flake, rust through, or be affected by wheel weights (I did put em all inside). Had em done in...

Tire shop blew up a tire

A harsh cleaner/degreaser such as Purple Power, Mean Green, etc should cut the WD-40 from the powder coat. Ask the applicator. Idiots choice for bead lube on new tire. (we do sometimes spray PBBlaster on bead/rim area of30-40 year old tractor tires when removing to replace)

What did you do to your jeep today?

No. Some off brand chit from O'Reilley.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Not today, but a week or so ago I finally got tired of slamming the lower rear hatch onto the upper rear glass and bought a couple new lift cylinders. AMAZING!

What did you do to your jeep today?

Mine's entire purpose is as a toy. I'd go with just about ANYTHING else for a source of transportation. :emotions34:

    Engine Rebuild Advice or Suggestions?

After comparing the cost of a "rebuild" VS a complete WARRANTED crate engine from O'Reilly Auto Parts, I bought the crate engine and never looked back. A year later, though low miles, it was a excellent choice.

    ABS Issue

Could it be that changing both is cheaper than buying the one you actually NEED plus cost of the code read?

Tire shop blew up a tire

One more question; did the tire burst in sidewall area, tread area, or bead blow over the rim flange?

    Harbor Freight Tools

As a professional grease monkey I've always bought SnapOn and Matco. In the past few years I've figured out I probably ain't gonna do this for too many more years (plan to work hands on till I can not) but at 63 "lifetime" ain't as long as it used to be.:Insane: The lower quality warranted...

    mis-fire after heater core replacement

Likely they did get coolant around the coil/plug area. As an aside, though, one of the most difficult things in the auto repair business is when something totally unrelated to the issue one's been hired to fix goes to $chit while it's at your shop.

    My thought also.

Tire shop blew up a tire

Never had a problem with narrow tires on wide wheels if you can get initial bead contact to begin inflation .

Tire shop blew up a tire

What type (if any) bead lube was used? Who, how much experience, applied the powder coat? You say a popular, well thought of, reputable shop, why automatically assume it WAS their fault? What makes you think a dealership who's installer is usually sweeping the shop will accept any more...

    jeep wheel spacers*

Well, I'd bet my arse against nine green walnuts there'd never been an issue WITHOUT spacers,,,,,
