    Front Sway Bar End Links

I replaced mine with Raybestos this summer. Took 30 mins, very straightforward, quieted the clunking/screeching when going over speedbumps in the cold.

    New jack needed, advice?

I completely shredded the threads of my stock jack after using it over and over and not regreasing it. I have a non-lifted 2004. I have looked at other scissor jacks, bottle jacks, racing jacks, etc. I am looking for enough clearance to get 16" height jack stands under the frame...

    HOW TO: Flush/Change Coolant

Just did a drain/fill of the coolant on Sunday. Each of the last 3 days I have had to add more coolant to the reservoir. There are no drips underneath the jeep, and I changed the oil yesterday and there was none mixed in. Where am I losing it?

    Dead battery...again

To clarify Sorry, I left out the part that the replaced battery had a prorated period of replacement from 37 months to 83 months. So months 1-36 were free replacement. It seems odd that between months 36-39 the replacement value goes from 100% to 50%.

    Dead battery...again

It was a dead cell. They replaced it at half cost, which felt like a ripoff since it would have been free 3 months ago. They also replaced it with a weaker battery (700CCA vs. 800).

    Dead battery...again

Whatever brand Merchant's installed. I know it's not ideal, but the damn thing never dies on a Saturday morning when I have time to go buy one and install it myself.

    Dead battery...again

Battery died completely out of the blue last night. Got the "click click click". Jumped it, drove around, let it idle in the driveway, all without the lights on or the radio going. This morning "click click click". This is the exact same way it died last time. No warning, no dimming, no...

Replacing My Rear Axle Fluid every 15k?

I'm 20 miles south in Laurel. Done both front and rear diffs, as well as transfer case. Tell me when you want to do it and you can drive down. Takes 20 mins to do the front, a bit longer for the rear, depending on if you use RTV or a gasket.

Another Jeep Noob here, (Baltimore, MD)

I live in Laurel, about 25 miles south of you. I have a 2004, and done most of the maintenance myself. Let me know if you have questions.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Crap. Mine only did it noticeably in the cold, so I'll have to wait a few months to find out. I put Raybestos stuff in my replacements, what'd you use?

Timing chain tensioner(s): cost & consequences?

My 2004 3.7 sport has the "ticking at start-up/in the cold" issue. From reading a whole lot of threads on here and elsewhere, it appears it's likely a tensioner issue. In a previous thread, I read a quote of around $500-700, does that seem reasonable? I DO intend to get this fixed, but I...

Cold start clicking and clacking noise

I've always used synthetic in mine, and it still happens. Usually only when it's cold (less than 50 F), and it goes away as the engine warms up. The click/clack/clatter increases directly related to pressing on the accelerator. No noticeable relationship to oil level or length of time since...

How To: Change front driveshaft / change a driveshaft head

Oh yeah, definitely using jack stands. I just wanted to know if I also had to raise the back. When I called about the "rebuild kit", they didn't have any in stock. Plus, to be perfectly lazy about it, the full replacement is already assembled, greased, crimped, etc. I just swap out the old...

How To: Change front driveshaft / change a driveshaft head

When I change the driveshaft, does the vehicle need to be completely level (on a lift), or can I jack up just the front?

How To: Change front driveshaft / change a driveshaft head

Just got told by stealership I need a new front driveshaft. Quoted $684. I called Vince at APU and got one shipped for $290. I'll be following this "How to" closely and let you know how it works out!
