I did think it would be a good idea actually, I just spent all weekend underneath the thing trying to fix and diagnose this problem. I don't know if I have a trac-lok diff or not, is there an easy way to find out aside from pulling the diff cover? I requested a build sheet from Chrysler last night, we'll see what it says in a few days I guess. I'd guess I don't have one though, as when I've been stuck in mud and such, only 1...- Spidey

Definitely not a front hub as there are no front axles in and the noise happens under load/acceleration. After much searching on LOST I'm thinking my rear diff is pretty much toast. I don't want to speculate too much on what exactly it is because it could be anything, but my rear axle vent tube...- Spidey

You know, the more and harder I listen, the more it sounds like the rear end. I'm going to change fluid in the morning, any way to 'flush' it, or is spraying everything with brake parts cleaner pretty much enough?- Spidey

Well, I'd thought this was the front CV axles to begin with, but have removed them, and the front driveshaft as well, and the noise remains. This is a gear/bearing whining type noise, increases in pitch with wheel speed, and only occurs under load, if I let off the gas there is no noise at all...- Spidey

Actual Lift Amount - Lets Compare Fender Heights
Finally got around to measuring mine... 02 Sport 4x4 3.7l auto 245/75 Treadwright MT/Rs Daystar 2.5" spacers and 3/8" clevis lift Stock springs and shocks all around, no rear spring isolators(going back in today) Front and back both sides: 22"- Spidey

Help....spare tire...
I have used vice grips as a last resort before, just be sure not to squeeze it too hard and smush it, and also used a 4-way once, tapping it over the lugnut just enough to be able to twist it.- Spidey

I'm going to get Bilsteins all around myself, pretty soon, the ones for a Durango for the rear and the Liberty ones for the front obviously. I would shop around a bit too if I were you, there are some deals to be had, maybe Marlin will price match.- Spidey

Rancho discontinuing 17505 Struts!
Has anyone ever tried other shocks made for a Durango/Dakota? I was browsing Advance's catalog for the Durango and noticed they have other Rancho shocks(some listed for 0" of lift and some for 3" of lift), they all appear to be the plain RS series though. Just curious.- Spidey
