What did you do to your jeep today?

I just did the driver side rear door on mine about a month ago. Mine was the same style as the first picture in your post. If that is the one currently in your door, go with it. It was a breeze compared to the heater core/dashboard fiasco. It still took a bit of finagling to get it inside the...

Myriad of issues after replacing heater core.

Thanks for the tip, Turbo. I was unaware of that. I'm still considering just swapping out the steering column because I've never pulled a steering wheel before and I don't know how difficult it is. Plus messing with airbags makes me nervous. But then again, I just removed the entire dash of my...

Myriad of issues after replacing heater core.

It hasn't been pulled yet. If I went that route, I'd tell the guy to lock it in place. I'd like to think the guy knows what he's doing. I asked him for just the clock spring but he told me he doesn't sell just the clock spring. I priced them and they ain't cheap.

Myriad of issues after replacing heater core.

Definitely is. Everything works except the cruise control and the airbag light is on. The cruise control doesn't work because the clock spring. I can get a whole steering column for 70 bucks from the bone yard. I wonder if that is a good idea though I do get a 90 day warranty. The gray plug is...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Fixed it for the most part. Still a few bugs I have to iron out. I think it was the profanity laced verbal threat to set it on fire and let it roll into the road that did the trick.

Myriad of issues after replacing heater core.

Welp, pPulled everything apart yesterday then took a pool break since it was 90° out. It was pouring this morning so I had to wait until it stopped. I checked the wire harness for any visible signs of damage. I put some electrical tape on spots where it was falling off and put everything back...

Myriad of issues after replacing heater core.

I pulled the dash again. I'm going to mark every connector and it's corresponding mate. Right now it doesn't appear that I missed any connectors. I know what the extra gray one is already. The black and yellow one still remains TBD but It doesn't appear to have a mate. I'm going to visually...

Myriad of issues after replacing heater core.

DadOSix, I just replaced the negative battery cable connector about six weeks ago. The bolts were so rusty they were fused together and I had to drill the bolts out and cut through them with a hacksaw. I was careful not to damage the eyelet on the ground cable and I cleaned it and both battery...

Myriad of issues after replacing heater core.

Hi, DadOSix. Coincidentally, I just looked at that about an hour ago and there was already a cable plugged into it. I'm currently looking at the wire grounding portion in electrical section of the service manual. I believe I'm starting to gain a little bit of understanding about the diagrams...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Came pretty close to setting it on fire and watching it burn to the ground.

Myriad of issues after replacing heater core.

Yep, I did. Mistakes were made. Windows not working, brake lights not working, power locks not working, sunroof not working, radio not working, rear wiper not working. The brake lights is the killer. The vehicle is undriveable without them. Whatever you do, do not remove the steering wheel like...

Myriad of issues after replacing heater core.

Additional information for anyone who can help. I went through the fuses that might be related to the issues I'm experiencing. I've checked them all and they appear to be intact. I'm looking at the wiring schematics but the service manual I'm looking at says 2005 KJ Diesel Service Manual. I...

Myriad of issues after replacing heater core.

Some good news moving in the right direction. I found a post here posted by Billwill mentioning a test called the Cluster Exerciser for the instrument panel by holding the trip reset button and turning the key on. It ran through the test and boom! The tach and speedometer are now functioning. In...

Myriad of issues after replacing heater core.

So, I did some rooting around in the service manual and came across these two drawings that seem to match the images I posted. The black and yellow one is likely the rear wiper motor. I checked to see if the rear wiper is functioning and it isn't. I will have to see where it connects up...

Myriad of issues after replacing heater core.

That sounds reasonable as the steering wheel did spin around. I also have an airbag error code: P0581.

Myriad of issues after replacing heater core.

Hi, DadOSix, Thank you for your response. I pulled the steering column out after I realized I couldn't get the old core out without doing so. My arms have some nice bruises from trying to do so. These connectors are both under the steering column. to the right. The gray one has a reach of...

Myriad of issues after replacing heater core.

Hi, folks. I have a 2005 Jeep Liberty Sport 3.7 4x4. I have a bunch of issues after I replaced my heater core and yes, it was a nightmare and continues to be. I got everything put back together but now my power windows, locks, radio and sunroof don't work. My fuel gauge and temp gauge work but...
