That could be a relatively quick test to make sure, question is can I safely drive without the axle in place, or do I risk getting more dirt/water inside the TC? I could maybe make a temporary cover plate I suppose.- Adam Roby

So I just did a visual check of the vehicle. The CV boots are all perfect, I don't see any tears or grease leaking out anywhere. Thanks for the replies. Tranny was flushed and fluid replaced last spring. I'll have to check the u-joints tomorrow, I'll look on here for the best way to do that. Not sure about the propshaft... We have no locks on any of our self serve stations, only the ones with service still have them. How fast does it turn over with the new starter, like any car on the market? Mine is a 2006, and from day one it sounded like I had a bad battery. Up here we have shops that specialize in rust proofing. That's all they do year round... it's basically oil that is sprayed anywhere water can get. The solution for rust is to do antirust treatments every year. Mine is a 2006 and has no rust. Trust me, they salt like crazy here in Montreal... most cars are falling apart by now, so its not a "Jeep" thing, I consider it basic maintenance just like an oil change or tire rotation. How accurate are those speedometer apps? In my wife's car it seems bang on, but in my Jeep while I am reading 110 km on my speedometer, her app is showing only 101 km.
