    I personally do very low mileage in a year, around 10,000 km or 6300 miles. I like to change the oil every 5000 km (just a preference) but then that means only every 6 months... because of that I feel the full synthetic better protects me. Its more of a feeling than anything... apparently...

    Rebuilt ones locally are $70 (+$50 for the core which gets reimbursed) each. So with tax it'll be $160 for both... unless I just do one side but my thinking is that if one is bad the other might not be far behind...

    Seems to have worked at least some. Did it 3-4 dozen times, slow roll back it'll stop, but not forward in the driveway yet. Will repeat the process a few more times to see if it improves.

    Got a point there... the boot is torn on the front shaft anyway so it can't hurt to replace the entire end. Have to test the CV... Are all these joints supposed to be replaced as part of some scheduled maintenance or are they just "replace when broken" type parts?

    My bad... typo, I meant the drive shaft not the axle, sorry for the confusion. Indeed it does seem to be a bad U-Joint. Swapping it out now.
