Yeah, hate to get passed being "that guy" holding up traffic (I''ll pull over on a flat and let them by). My friend has a CRD...might try with that to see how the diesel performs at altitude as compared to normally aspirated.
:happy175::happy175::happy175: hahaha...If I install two can it be a "Twin-Fan Turbo Boosted Liberty"?
...oh, and downhill was no problem!
BTW, some of the Shasta camper models had small wings on the upper sides at the back end...wonder if that would help?
Bought it for $300 17 years ago, it was a mess. Did a rebuild and got her roadworthy. This round of redo cleaned her up even more with a paint job close to original. We love this thing, altho I discovered instead of the Dodge diesel we used the Liberty and at 10,000 ft. altitude had my foot...
There was a possibility we would move (for work) to the Portland area...ultimately not being allowed to pump your own fuel was a show-stopper for us, it was kinda weird actually, plus it took three times longer to fill up and pay because you had to wait for the attendant because despite every...
Our 2007 started doing the loud "ticking" last Winter on cold start ups, now does it after sitting overnight. Goes away after five minutes (warm up). Annoying but no performance problems. Seems like a sticky lifter OR the oil pickup, not sure. Running Mobile 1 for the past 50K of its 130K miles.
Got away for the weekend
Hitched up to the newly redone '56 Shasta and hauled it over the divide to Encampment, WY for the Cowboy Gathering. No chores or work, just relaxing.
UPDATE: After fiddling around for a few months with a "Gascap" error I bit the bullet and bought a replacement Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid (CP648 - Standard Brand)...problem solved. Takes two minutes to replace. Maybe didn't need a new filler cap after all, but hey, after 120K miles nice to...
Exactly why I haven't found it yet...more EVAP stuff routed around than you can shake a smoke machine. I did notice from the tank a small canister up under the body, possibly another obscure failed part. Finding this micro-leak may prove difficult. I'll look into the solenoids as a...
Don't laugh but I've been running around with this thing intermittently going on and off for a few months. Annoying but no poor running conditions. Had planned to check the fuel tank lines this evening. Will let you know.
Another thought I had (read it somewhere on the Forum) was (on the 2007...
Do like I did and disconnect then reconnect the battery, resets the computer for a few days which gets rid of the annoying ding...Hehe
Actually, same deal here which means there is a leak in the EVAP system. Someone suggested I check the lines at the top of the fuel tanK for a leak (everything...
Recently started getting the Gascap error indicator again after purchasing a new Mopar filler cap a few moons back (which fixed it for a while.) After 128K miles I'm suspecting the problem is with the small canister near the battery (on the '07) that has a connector and two EVAP lines coming...
Ya know what, my comment was bogus. Sorry for that. Door sensors are part of the latch assembly nowadays. Take a look here: Driver door sensor shot? WJ thinks driver door open all the time - HELP
Maybe a dimple in the jamb doesn't depress the switch plunger enough to make the circuit??? If so you could bond a small plate there or add a screw to activate it.
New cap, all good. No check engine light or gascap alarm. That simple. Although initially I did put the new cap on only to stiil have the error. So I pulled power for about fifteen minutes. Thereafter the check engine light went off, apparently resetting the PCM fault. Not sure if pulling power...
