    Vibration - Power Lacking

Did the same, mine has a bit of a surge at 1500 as well. But swapping these parts out made a significant difference in overall drivability. I used Mopar parts, spent about 100 bucks and about 25 minutes cruising time. Very easy swap. There also seems to be a fuel mapping issue if several...

    Coolant question

After reading various opinions on coolants etc. I need to know the thoughts on a specific situation. I removed my filler cap and failed to completely lock it down this weekend.(winner) All was well until I hit the four wheel road and it worked its way loose. Spilled about a gallon of coolant...

    Slight surge @ 1500 rpm

I don't have anything like that happening. It is only at this one spot, doesn't do it at any other point, nor do I experience any shuddering, at least not t this point. Going to try a the MOPAR parts change. That's the hard part about figuring stuff like this out. Usually a process of elimination.

    Slight surge @ 1500 rpm

I actually had done that. And mine is 1500-1600. That's when I changed the TPS to no significant change, but a little better. When I cleaned the AIC/TB it was just nasty, in fact my TB took almost two cans of cleaner to clean. Not sure if it had ever been done. I was considering getting a new...

    Slight surge @ 1500 rpm

Describe your symptoms? Curious, as I had that thought. Seems to shift solidly overall though with no slippage. On the TPS, aftermarket. Purchased at Autozone. Don't remember the brand, but I think it was their "house" brand.

    Slight surge @ 1500 rpm

I do drive with the OD off usually, as it seems like that is the case. Just the hunt seems more apparent with this particular vehicle.

    Slight surge @ 1500 rpm

Yes, it's is after the shift. It is sort of like a throttle "hunt". If I hold the throttle steady right at the above mentioned speed/rpm there is a slight surge in the rpm's up and down. Doesn't seem to do it any other time. Very odd.

    Slight surge @ 1500 rpm

So, I've got this bit of a surge at 15-1600 rpm and around 40mph. It only seems to occur when the overdrive shifts down. There is very little throttle at this rpm and just wonder what some thoughts may be? I've got new coils, plugs (copper) cleaned TB new TPS. Engine runs well otherwise with...

    Front End Noise

There is a thread above regarding some replacement CV's failing rather quickly. And of course... Driveshaftparts.com is out of stock for my 04.

    Front End Noise

Hmm, that might be my issue as well. I've got a similar sound when driving slowly. Seems to go away when speeds get higher. Noticed it the other day in a parking garage. Why would the rear CV boot make a jingle or scrape kind of noise? Also, given the seeming hit and miss with the replacement...

Front top plates and JBA Y-link extension install ???

The u-joints were done about 500 miles or so ago... Initially, that is what I thought might be the problem. Had the shaft balanced as well. The output shaft on my T-case could literally be moved up and down, and replacing that certainly made a difference. I'm more concerned with long term wear...

Front top plates and JBA Y-link extension install ???

I've done the "basic" OME lift shocks and springs. I did not install the front upper strut spacer however. I wound up with a 2.5" lift total with the front having the same basic chassis attitude as stock (lower nose). Doing this resulted in my pinion/T-case output shaft angle to be out of whack...

    Good exhaust?

I just put a magnaflow on mine today. Not sure which one, but I am very happy. Both with the sound (not obnoxious) and the performance feel. Definitely better throttle response. I did a simple install, muffler only.

    Oh goody! U-joints!

I have a bench vise, but not with a big enough capacity for u-joints. As I have gotten older (just old really) I've become less "home wrench-centric". I've been doing it for years. Doing the suspension was pretty easy overall. And I have a bit of a hassle/time/money/satisfaction equation I use...

    Need help identifying stange sound

I'd bet money it's brake pads. Prob the E-brake. Try driving the truck backwards slowly while slightly engaging the e-brake and see if it solves it. My e-brake was making all sorts of weird noises until I did this. Driving backwards causes a bit of a re-seat of the pads and in a sense, adjusts...

    CV Axle shaft/intermediate shaft pop/clunk??

Sounds like it's time for new CV's. Usually if they clunk like that (if you are sure its the CV's) then the inner tolerances are shot. Lifting just makes it worse. Another possibility is the lower clevis pin bushing might be toast, but you would have seen that when doing the lift. If they are...

    Oh goody! U-joints!

Got my driveshaft all refurbed and installed. I'm actually glad I went ahead and did the balance. It required about 2oz at the transfer case side. So I now have a nice tight drive system. Feels great. They wound up only charging me $110.00 total for the job, blasted and painted too. $ well spent...

    New spark plugs

Yeah, I did mine a couple of weeks ago and they looked pretty much the same. The entire left bank was less than hand tight with carbon blow by. I changed them, not because my engine ran poorly, but because it was near 120k and I didn't know the previous plug change interval. Given they were so...
