I do agree with you about the extra cost and maintenance but I feel much safer when my wife drives the jeep with all those extras as she had a near fatal accident last year (which is why we have the Jeep). Sometimes safety is worth a little extra $- Minimike

Have to agree here. This was a major problem with all first gen escapes. The tone rings are pressed on. Once water gets in behind them they rust and crack. The crack when picked up by your abs sensor registers a slightly different a/c signal because the gap between teeth is greater in just one...- Minimike

that's too bad. I do hope you will either trade it into a dealership so they can fix it or let the potential owner know about the issue. It sucks when you buy a vehicle only to find out it was a major problem.- Minimike

If its not spark, the it has to be fuel or mechanical issue (bad valve). Using a mechanic stethoscope listen to the injector on cylinder #5, or use a large long screw driver. You should hear a relatively loud clicking noise. This means its opening and closing. Even if it sounds good it may be...- Minimike

i know.. I orderd a bull bar and nice 6" round lights. but no one ships to P.O. boxes... So I have to get ones at Canadian Tire and all they had were rectangular ones and oval ones. These will have to do. They serve their purpose.- Minimike

fogs are ok. the road we are on is very hilly and has some steep ones and the lights to not go high enough (except for high beams which turn off the fogs). We needed them for safety. We drive 80km one way down an unmaintained logging road to get home. I might add more to increase visibility.- Minimike

Well here are 2 pics of my 07 Liberty. Its dirty and there is no real point to washing it really. The fog lights were just added yesterday. The fog light kit was cheap, quality sucked. It wanted me to run the circuit with no relay. So I went out and bought a $5 relay and now the lights are...- Minimike

WOW thanks for the pics!! that is a very nice setup. If it were mine I would put a grill on it for protection. But I've rekindled my ceiling mount idea. the enclosure is only 7.5" deep. When mounted into the rear cargo area ceiling it comes down to just where the glass begins on the back...- Minimike

@ sharpy its funny just last night both those items came to me. Now I've got to find a new mounting area. I just don't want to loose cargo space, but the Jeep's stock speakers are not good enough. To bad there wasn't a pre-made cargo door trim that accepted subs...- Minimike

I wouldn't say serious rattle is going to happen. I'm not installing a pounding system just something to give more depth to my music. A single 12" floor mounted sub would produce more rattles then 2 mild 8" subwoofers. and if things do rattle they can be tightened up.- Minimike
