oil all over left side of engine compartment

About a 1/4" to 3/8" below the full mark. Next time you do an oil change, add the exact amount of new oil and you will know where it should be.

oil all over left side of engine compartment

That makes good sense, if the OP is filling his engine to the full mark, and the stick is marked wrong like all our CRDs he could be leaking through the boost hoses from the CCV.

    thinking about a Liberty CRD

You are missing that the CRD is an awesome vehicle that pulls like a tractor and will easily blow away the high revving low torque 3.7. I never took out a calculator on any vehicle I ever owned. I own it because I want to. Looks like you spent plenty to make that Orange KJ what you wanted it...

    thinking about a Liberty CRD

Yeah, and consider your self lucky if your gasser Liberty gets as good of mileage as a pick up truck, cause that gasser likes to really drink the fuel :drink_nl: And in the mean time I will stick with my 28 MPG CRDs

    thinking about a Liberty CRD

CRDs, are fine as long as they are running, less then 20% of the owners have problems with them, of course that will go up as time goes by. If you are handy with tools, and have money and other vehicles to drive, you will be OK with a CRD. Just make sure you get a GDE tune done to it.

oil all over left side of engine compartment

Is your left side the drivers side, or the passenger side? If it is the passenger side I would use caution and not drive it till you check out the turbo. http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=56958 Start Here http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=635181#p635181

    Egr valve faulty?

Did you have a CEL? Any codes? If it is stuck closed you are lucky, if it is stuck open it is going to be eating its own exhaust gas all the time and is not going to help with power or fuel efficiency.

In limp mode but no engine light - help

If it is vacuum operated and has a hose leaking, that would be my first plan of attack.

    545RFE and cold weather.

It is the check valve in the spin on filter, located inside the transmission. You can change it and get a Mopar filter kit or try my mod for a permanent fix: http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=98&t=55110

Where is the MAP sensor located on 05 Liberty?

It is on the top left side of the intake manifold, near the driver and the fire wall. Remover the plastic engine cover and the one Allen screw to remove it, keep a close eye so you don't drop the screw or special washer. Be gentle if you are going to clean it.

'truck' size diesel nozzle will not fit CRD filler opening.

I stuffed a rag down in the neck, took out the "gasser restriction" with a hole saw on a cordless drill, then I vacummed the filings out and the rag. I have a truck stop 3 miles from my house, I go there all the time.

Trying to locate previous owner of CRD

Hi, I recently bought a used 06 Liberty CRD Sport in the color Black. I know this vehicle comes from Maryland, does any one know a member that owned a vehicle of this description? I would like to contact them for some history. TIA Bob
