Instrument Cluster Light Replacement
The light for my temperature gage on my '03 was burned out. Bugged me as it is dangerous to drive without knowing the engine temp. Hmmm... I too am an elcheapo but have decided to rebuild if the input sensor doesn't do the trick. The reason I suspect the input sensor is that code 0740 compares engine speed from the PCM to the input speed of the trans and trips if there is a difference when the torque converter clutch is...- libertybob

My Liberty has the standard overhead console - lights only above the mirror. Is it possible to replace this with the overhead console with compass, temperature, and lights? Critical Rear/Front Axle Maintenance
Was just at the Jeep dealership and the service manager commented that Liberty's are one tough vehicle. Misfiring on Cylinder 4 and 5
Coils... Electronic parts suffer from infant failure. Happens early in the parts life. These two coils may be infant failures. As recommended, switch positions to see if the misfire follows. Probably not plugs as they have been good for 300 miles.- libertybob

Thrilled with Replacement PCM!
Just bought 4x4 Liberty and she had a P0601 code - bad Power Control Module (PCM). I looked all over the net and found prices with flash from $100 to $238 for a "rebuilt" PCM. What did you do to your jeep today?
Tune up... Liberty with 174k miles. Rough idle, miss when driving. Changed plugs and air filter. Believe plugs were original factory NGK plugs as they had 0.100" to 0.106" gap versus original 0.040". Can't believe Libby would even run under those conditions. Owner #2 totally ignored...- libertybob

2004 Liberty P0300 Multiple Misfire
Thrown Rocker Arm? 3.7's and 4.7 v8's can throw the rocker arm out from under the cam thereby de-activating a cylinder. No codes. May or may not make a noise. Discolored Coolant Overflow Bottle?
Connections... Just concluded the discoloration in Libby's overflow tank is discoloration from the HOAT coolant, not rust. Why? Because the overflow tank in my Saab uses the same HOAT and guess what. New used 04 kj, few issues
Small miss? A miss can be caused by the 3.7L throwing a rocker arm off a valve. Would be a consistent miss on one cylinder and is usually accompanied by very rough running. You can Google this problem. Not likely your problem if it is an intermittent small miss, but mention it just in case...- libertybob
