Well owning a jeep will turn you into a mechanic. :D
I am in the same boat, my mechanical abilities have increased ten fold and so has my tool collection since buying my jeep. Welcome to the forum. Just about all the KJ info you would ever need can be found here.
Check your ABS sensors that plug into the front hubs. If the wire comes loose from its clips it can rub on suspension parts and or the rotor. I have replaced two so far. I zip tie them in place now.
I have thought about doin the same thing. I was to lazy and just keep a spool of the stuff in the back tote I have with the rest of the crap I carry. Looks cool though.
I use a 12 inch hunk of 4x4 with the stock jack. Fits under the front seat when not in use. I only use that for road side issues. I have a floor jack for home use.
Why people continue to give this guy money baffles the hell outta me. Good luck getting your money back. I am sure there will be people jumping in to make excuses shortly.
I have Crown seals and bearings and they have held up pretty well. Maybe it was damaged when you re-installed the CV? Did you check the surface where the seal seats for gouges in the metal? Something ain't right if you've went through 2 in a month.
Yeah I could do with out that. But if it is a package deal I'll take it. :D I like it better than the COD version though.
Needs a little radar thing that beeps like a submarine has, but for rocks.
I modify stuff when it breaks. Plus a V8 swap and installing a long arm lift is out of...
Gotta disagree. That is how the Rubicon should come off the assembly line.
-Long arm lift
-Beadlocks
-Dana 60's
-Monster V8
-Proper sized man tires
I wonder how much that thing would cost? Would cost you a shit ton of money to tack all that on top of a stock JK. I like it! Would be right...
I go through front axle seals about every 25k miles. I am on my third driver side one. T case seeps a little bit. The rear diff is seeping a little around one of the bolt holes on the cover; must have been a little sloppy with the rtv last fluid change. Thats about it.
The ol lady's Chrysler...
Fall here looks the same as summer... and spring... and winter. Pretty much looks the same year round. Sometimes the leaves fall of the trees in winter; not always though. :D
That is some pretty country there HJ. Any good wheeling out that way, or is it all private property?
I have seen the stick on skateboard grip tape installed on rock rails. That stuff is pretty heavy duty and can take some abuse. Might be worth looking into.
Good luck in your endeavor.
How many people has this been now? I wonder how many people not on LOST or here that have been duped as well that none of us hear about? Sucks seeing this happen time and time again. People should really research online companies before dropping so much coin...
