I would never actually PAY for someone to hack together a Jeep like that for me. If I found a good deal on one that needed some repairs to the a$$ end I might hack it apart and bolt a camper on.
With that much repair to the front end she may never run the same again. Especially since there could be damage that is not visible to the (un)trained eye if you're not looking for it. It's possible that everything in the engine compartment was shifted and could cause some major issues down...
I know parking the KJ is easy, especially for parallel parking. It wasn't my parking I was worried about. It's other peoples who tend to park way too close to my Jeep. But then again I guess me having a smaller vehicle doesn't cure their lack of skills. As for the gas, yeah not really gonna...
You know TBJ, I knew you would chime in as soon as I posted something about buying/trading a vehicle. But if I was to ever buy a used (old) car again, I would go back to my ThirstyBird. Even though the thing couldn't pass a gas station and had a steering wheel like a school bus, I loved that...
jnaut - Those were pretty much my thoughts too. Even if my payments are the same a month, I'll have to pay them for longer. There's no way they'd be able to match my payment and current loan term for a newer vehicle. Plus, I think my Renny is damn sexy (and so does my wife).
I received 2 calls from my local stealership over the past few days. They say they are interested in buying my Jeep from me to build up their used vehicle inventory. They would rather buy a Jeep from a "valued customer" who wants to upgrade to a newer Jeep than buy an unknown from auction...
I thought this myself. I would put a slope on the front so it slides over things. In the shape it is now it looks like it would catch on anything it comes across.
What about gas? Maybe every time you washed it before the tank was (near) empty. Now it's full and the weight of 18.5gal of gas males it sit lower.
I know that sounds kinda dumb, but you never know.
Surf - I wasn't referring to the stock light bar. My Renny didn't come with it either. I was referring to his home made light bar capable of holding "five 6 1/2" round lights from walmart"
The laws may vary by state, no? Also, with truckers being up so high you'd think they wouldn't be as bothered by brighter lights. Hell, you're lights are practically at eye level for everyone not driving and SUV or truck.
Are you stating that if I drive by you with bright lights, you're...
(lol)
Maybe it can rotate a full cycle plus an additional 10 degrees before the wires get fouled up and you need to bring it back to center. That thing is sweet.
Tom, how does it mount?
Benvenuto! I wish I had my KJ when I was in Italy. Never made it to Pisa though. The entire country was gorgeous and I plan on returning (soon hopefully).
