That would e the best thing to do. Have a shop do the press work. LBJ`s are a mofo if you do not have the right tools. It takes allot of force to put the new ones in. Be sure to look at where the grease fitting will be pointing when they press the Moogs in. is should face the front of the Jeep...
If one of your ball joints went and the tire went horizontal it may have pulled the inner tie rod out to hard and broke a seal. That would be the only thing I could think of. I replaced my rack and pinion assembly myself for $240.00 Not a fun job but it wasn`t that bad once you figure out that...

Hello from Sardegna:
I was stationed in La Maddalena a couple of times. I Loved it there. I wish they would have kept the US Military Base there. Sardegnians are Great people. Best food in the world. Here is a pic of my Kj in Corsica.
Are the shocks the larger ones for the Durango. If so the sleeve the bolt rides in is slightly larger than the stock shocks and not as wide. The shock is bouncing a little on the bolt so you have to put some washers in the upper shock towers to help eliminate the noise.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Just thought I would share some good info for those of you with higher millage KJ`s. Every year I put some Sta-Bil gas treatment in my yard gear for winter. This stuff works great for those things so as the bottle recommends I used it in the KJ...
Not sure there is a MAF sensor on the Liberty. Chrysler usually uses a MAP sensor on there engines. Can`t really clean those though. only replace. There is an intake air sensor in the intake tube, but it does not need to be cleaned. But if you insist you can use a small tooth brush with some...
You can loosen the lower control arms and slide the arm around some to help align the clevis, but remember to mark the location of the LCA bolts and put the back exactly where they were or you will need an alignment if you dont.
I have an air ride system that looks very similar. I got it for the sagging rear springs. it does the job. It lifts the rear about an inch higher than stock. Very easy to install.

I only used the 4WD to keep good traction through a few deep pools where the rain backs up in the crappy drainage systems here. Maybe not really necessary, but I do it for the piece of mind.
I have 54000 on the odometer, and changed the transfer case oil at 25000. The last time i used the 4WD was a couple of months ago during a hard rain, but only for a matter of minutes.
Not sure what transfer case I have I believe its select trac. I have said to the wife the last few weeks it feels like it is in 4WD. The dealer called the wife today again and said that something is also wrong with the transmission. He is ordering the part and should be in soon. It may be until...
Well here is the update. Dealer called and said its the transfer case. He said the fluid in it was nasty and it may not be covered under warranty. He will speak to the supervisor thing. He called back a few minutes later and told us his sup said they will proceed as a warranty repair. THANK GOD...
I really do hope it is something simple. I have never abused it. I have spent some time over the last day reading the thousands of posts on the web from people with the 42rle trans in their vehicles that have had it fail on them. Many of them from the onset of their buying the car. Dodge...
I did reset the computer. Whatever happened it felt str8 mechanical. like a broken gear. I only gave it a little gas when backing up when it went. I got no CEL either.
Don`t get me wrong. I wont go in fighting and screaming. Ill get a lawyer to do the negotiating if necessary, or the BBB. I may only have an hours worth of time in 4WD over the 4 years I have had her, and never in the woods. I don`t want to go wheeling with it until its paid off. and a second...
Well yesterday when driving home she started bucking on me. I took it out of overdrive and she was fine. So I had to go out again and when I put it in reverse she started clank, clank, clank. I picked up some new atf+4 and a filter, and changed them this morning. Well after a few trips around...
It may sound old school, but today's engines have much tighter tolerances than older cars and letting the oil get to these parts before putting a load on them will definitely extend the life of your car.
I have a question about the steering?
When you jack the entire front end up should you be able to grab one wheel and turn the entire rack i.e. both wheels at the same time with ease? I just replaced my rack and pinion a few weeks ago and am having the loose steering again. It drove great for...
I shouldn`t say that it will do damage to everyone who puts PS fluid in their systems. It was the only thing I did to my PS unit ever and it went bad. The KJ is only 4 years old with 50K miles. I wouldn`t wish it on anyone either. Its a scary feeling driving it like that. I will be fixing it...
