    Strange noises...and idling rough?

If you're having a random, uneven idle like this: Rrrrrrrrrrrr <phut> rrrrrrrrrrrrr <phut phut> rrrrrrr <phut> rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr <phut> I'd check for a loose or disconnected vacuum hose. (Yeah I know it looks funny but how the heck else was I going to write it?) Andy

    New roof basket.

I'd have a go at U-bolting it directly to the roof rails, and ditch the cross bars. Get yourself one of those folding steps that hangs over the tire...you'll need it! For transport you can hang it over the spare and wrap a bungie strap around the spare mount. Even fold it down and strap...

    New roof basket.

It looks like your basket might nestle down between the roof rails? Put the crossbars on the underside of the roof rails.... Andy

Putting a License plate on front bumper of 02KJ

Is there any metal support back under the bumper cover? Been kicking around getting a front license plate bracket on that folds down into a small step. Neighbor has one on his RV. I figured I would have to drill out then use some pieces of pipe or tubing for stiffener, along with some nice...

    Inflation pressure for BFG TKO's

Thanks everyone. More or less what I figured, I will run 36-38 for a few months and see how she goes... Andy

    Inflation pressure for BFG TKO's

What's a good inflation pressure to run on the BFG's, for best wear? When I was at the tire shop a couple of weeks ago having them re-mounted onto steel wheels, they ran the pressure up to 50 psi. I think they got confused by the load rating on the tire or something. Anyway, I took them...

    A-Arms

I think the question was fair enough. That's quite enough of the trash talk. You don't like RRO. We get it. Move on. Follow another thread. Don't give us grief just because we asked the question. If you have PERSONALLY dealt with RRO, then speak up. If not, then shut the F up and quit posting...

Confused about tire mount on an 02 KJ

My '02 Limited has the 3 chromed lug nuts too holding the spare mount to the door along with 2 for the spare plus the "locking" lug. Since there are 5 total, I figured they were "spares" in case you somehow manage to lose one (or two, or three). Kind of like sometimes a shirt will have a...

Paint current fender flares or buy new ones?

I have an '02 Limited and I had my front flares repainted under warranty. I got too aggressive with the power washer and started to flake the paint off...whoops. That said I would have rather have the textured finish unpainted flares (at least as an option) on the Limited. BUT, my thinking...

How many miles on the OEM tires?

I got 68k from my SRAs, and I thought they were a good dry and/or snow-and-slush tire, but I was never happy with them in rain or wet pavement. Always seemed I could spin one (rear) or the other without careful application of the happy pedal. But I was very content to get nearly 70,000 miles...

    A-Arms

Anybody here done business with them lately? I've seen those posts too, but I wonder if that situation has improved, or not.

    A-Arms

Are the Jeepin' Al's A-Arms the only game in town? Seems like when I looked at a pair last year they were maybe $110-$125 apiece, but now they're up to $385 plus shipping for the pair?? Andy

    Wheel width / tire fit

I figured I just got a bad set. It happens. Once it got under that plastic film, I couldn't keep it at bay. Later! Andy

    Wheel width / tire fit

These puppies have been eaten up: ...but that's what Ohio winters will do for you. Any blasting or refinishing is going to remove a good amount of material and these guys will need some work. Andy

    Wheel width / tire fit

I'm not going to be able to tell what I can do with them until I get the tires off. I don't really care about the appearance, but with the plastic film that's bonded to the surface of the alloy, I might not be able to get all of the spots of corrosion cleaned out, and it keeps spreading and...

    Wheel width / tire fit

Hi, I have had problems about the past year with corrosion on my alloy wheels causing slow air leaks on three wheels. Basically just have to keep at checking the air pressures. 2 tires lose about 5 psi a week, and the other will lose 10 psi a week. I had the tires rotated on the wheels and...

    After Frankenlift Install...

Sounds good, thanks guys. I guess I was so happy to get in mine after the install and run it, and no little qwerks really jumped at at me but I just really noticed those on his. Later Andy

    After Frankenlift Install...

Hi, A friend at work and I both have '02's. We both bought the Frankenlift I with OME 132L's for the rear. I got my kit installed by a local shop last fall. I didn't help but I sure got in the way a lot to try and see everything that was going on. Last weekend I helped my friend finally...

    Goodyear Wrangler Territory

I always kinda liked the stock Wangler tires that came with the off-road package on my '02 Limited. They were a little squirrelly in the rain, but they were a good decent snow tire and highway tire. Andy

    need new tires, recommendations?

If you want to gain a slight bit of height, drop down to a tire size of 225/75/16. They are only 10mm narrower than the 235 tire, but almost 1/2" taller (0.4 inches). This is the standard tire size on the Liberty Sport models, so no concerns with rubbing or anything. Andy
