CV boot destruction!
Hmm . . . good point. Never thought of that. My mechanic swears by silicone spray though. So I'll split the difference. Maybe twice a year I'll hit the boots with spray, let it sit for a few hours, then wipe it off and give the old girl a wash Cant hurt. Cheap insurance- SMETNA

How long do CV Boots typically last? I spray mine periodically with silicone to keep the rubber nice and playable and ward off dry rot.- SMETNA

Terrible Mileage on 2012?
^ This I just past 20,000 in my 2011, and I consistently get 18mpg combined. Vs about 15mpg combined when newer. Best I ever got was 22.5mpg on a 430 mile highway trip.- SMETNA
