I think you plan is great. Do what you can when you can. You will be shocked like I was when you see all the junk in the bottom of the radiatior taking up cooling space.- KJScott

I ordered mine from Rock Auto. Upper and lower hoses. My guess is you were leaking at the seal between the plastic tanks and the alum. core. Might as well do the T stat also. As for flushing..... I may get flamed but if you have neglected the system, flushing may cause new problems. I just...- KJScott

I picked up the Alpine set on Crutchfield, since I was replacing all the speakers, with a new head unit, they had a buy one set, get 2nd for half off. It is the component set. But you will have to custom mount the tweeters in the dash. I gutted the original ones and reused the metal speaker...- KJScott

new shift knob I installed a new shift knob on my 5 speed. Only 19 bucks! No cheap plastic bushing one either. A real threaded cue ball.- KJScott

Speakers
If you have the premium sound, (Infinity), you will have amplifiers built on to the front door speakers, this supplies signal to the dash tweeter and the rear door speaker. These speakers run at a less common ohm than typical store bought speakers. Solutions are- buy new factory speakers...- KJScott

It was 5 hours for me, I was nervous in the days before we did it but it went fine. Definitely not hard to do technically speaking. What is tough is getting the strut assembly back in.
