This is probably an afterthought and I should have just replaced them when I did the springs, but what I am noticing is over certain bumps there is a metal clunk from the rear. It sounds like the springs might be connecting with metal and the only thing I can think of is the isolators which are...
I set my wife's interval on service to the lowest (2 or 2.5k) so I am reminded to check oil levels. As for the other fluids, I do them during oil changes for the most part. I keep her car at about the 3k mile mark for changes and strictly use Castrol 5-30 high mileage with a Mopar filter.

Easiest thing to do when diagnosing AC issues is to start with a recharge. Buy one of the kits from the local auto store with a gauge and start with one can and see what happens. If it stays cold for a few days your fine but if it warms up again you may have a leak somewhere.
You can buy the...
Doing this when I get home tonight! We always wear our belts but sometimes I don't put it on fast enough or step out of the car while it's running. Or when taking it around the block for a diagnosis drive it gets beyond annoying and last forever!
This was a VERY simple one, but it may come in handy for others. Our '05 Liberty had a very sloppy E-bake handle that you could jack all the way up and it would not really engage much. So I found a good video but it was grainy so here is a quick how-to on adjusting your E-brake.
1. You can...
I was going to remove the caliper or support the wheel assembly but when the knuckle dropped out it did not strain the brake line at all. Since I did not remove any of the lower connections the drop was minimal, the UBJ moves down quite a bit as well to make the connection to the knuckle...
I picked up a set of deep impact sockets for $23 from Advance Auto (their brand Autocraft). I got the set that goes up to 24 or 25mm. They worked great and the handle is kinda nice although plastic but it keeps them in order.
What I need to get from Santa this year is an impact gun, I...
I used to use Simple Green but found something much more awesome. Purple Power, I bought a big jug of it with a small spray bottle. Zero dilution sprayed on, let sit, used a long handled brush here and there then hosed out. For detailing I used Meguiar's #40 Vinly and Plastic Conditioner and...
Jeep Liberty Front Coilover Assembly Install
This guide is a how-to for changing out the front coilover assembly on a Jeep KJ. I used Moog’s complete assembly to ease the installation without having to go through rebuilding a strut/spring combo. I’d rate the job about 3 out of 5 wrenches on...
Nice! Thanks for the info.
As I do more of these maintenance projects I pickup the tools I need like an impact socket set. Being at a desk all day it's therapeutic for me to do this work, plus the satisfaction of DIY and saving $$$.
Assemblies came in yesterday, a good 50-70lbs. of equipment, no pics yet but I will post during the job, maybe make a more up to date video/guide as well. I will say these look different than ones I have seen elsewhere, more robust if you will. The isolators and hardware seem pretty beefy in...
Then it's probably a much better part, whatever this shop used and as I said it actually was a Chinese part I looked up the # and all stamped, was horrible. I found the pic of the Chinese one I removed.
My issue with the aftermarket pump that we replaced was the seal was complete garbage. It had no life and was basically a flattened hard rubber piece that offered no hope of giving a good seal. When I picked up the OEM part I was astonished at the thickness and tread in the seal.
This alone makes me think your pads are not set. I would put money that if you pulled the wheel and caliper you would see the little metal shims are loose and flopping around. When I did the wife's Liberty one side was nice and tight (side with no noise), and the other was just flopping around...
Wheel bearing?
I will say that my wife's '05 developed a squeak that seemed to be louder when taking corners but would go away with heavy braking. What I found was that the front brake pad shims had come loose. I pulled the caliper and pad off, cleaned it out, and put new grease in there...
I will say just get OEM. My wife had her water pump done at about 85-90k after a failure, her father paid that bill but within 25-30k it failed again. I went to my parts guy at the local Jeep place and got a OEM for cost. I popped the hood to do the job and when removing the pump (which is...
I'm not sure how much easier it would be considering removing that one joint will allow the hub assemble to sag and let you slide out the component easier. I'm sticking with removal of the UBJ with a good whack in a few spots.
Rock Auto had the assemblies at a good price with free shipping...
