    Talk me out of 215/85/16s

I wouldn't mind finding a set of these stock wheels to stay with a 16x7. I've never minded the look of those fat 5 spokes. Not a Moab but still decent. Oh, picture credit: I stole this from jrs05kj over at Lost Jeeps.

    Talk me out of 215/85/16s

Yeah, you still have the risk of popping beads airing down a 245 on an 8" wheel right? What's the weight difference between the 245 and the 265?

    Talk me out of 215/85/16s

They're also just generally more expensive than a 245/75/16. More points against.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Yeah whoever put that thing on shouldn't be allowed to touch tools

What did you do to your jeep today?

OMG this is still happening? Awful!

    Talk me out of 215/85/16s

I know the argument for a narrower tire (among others like rolling resistance and reduced weight and all that) is that when it comes to traction a narrower tire focuses the weight of the vehicle onto a smaller area which increases the amount force per unit of area pressing into the surface...

    Talk me out of 215/85/16s

Yeah that's another issue I'm having with them :( 6" wheels are hard to come by. Granted I'm not sure how much I'd be airing down with the driving I plan on doing but it's better to have the option than not. Honestly my ideal tire size would be to run 235/85/16 but that's asking for regearing...

    Lift- Project Lady Liberty

Since all the great lift advice has already been given I wanna say, 280k miles??? That's awesome!

    Talk me out of 215/85/16s

Like the title says... I'm intrigued because they are a similar sized outer diameter to the popular 245/75/16 but, I kinda like the small/skinny tire look/function, although they may be a bit too skinny. 235/75/16s are another option but they're a half inch smaller in outer diameter. Am...

Ground Clearance: How Much is Enough?

It's encouraging reading your sig and seeing a very similar list of wheel, tire, and suspension mods to what I would like to do to mine down the road!

Ground Clearance: How Much is Enough?

I was about to ask what your setup was then saw your signature. How did you get 3.5" out of the OME 927/947 lift? Clevis/spacers/exrtra isos on the back?

Ground Clearance: How Much is Enough?

Now I just gotta dig up enough pennies!

Ground Clearance: How Much is Enough?

That would be great! And to bring it full circle what I did learn was that re-gearing is a contentious issue and that I'm probably gonna rock the 2.5" from the OME lift and throw some 245/75/16s on it. Seems to be a tried and true setup and it sounds like it's a good balance between little bit...

Ground Clearance: How Much is Enough?

Tom, how hard are the 4.10 gears to find nowadays if one wanted to do the re-gear? I feel like I remember some recent posts of people having a hard time locating them out of the 2.4 equipped Libertys.

Ground Clearance: How Much is Enough?

Oh that doesn't sound too bad. The KJ has more grunt to it than my old WJ with the 4.0 so I would imagine it'd be something like going back to that, and I never really found the WJ hard to live with in terms of power.

Ground Clearance: How Much is Enough?

What kinda MPGs do you get with those monsters on there? And how noticeable is the drop in power? The terrain is pretty varied here since we're basically in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains so I'm worried going too big without a re-gear would make it feel underpowered on a day to day basis...

Ground Clearance: How Much is Enough?

Mine does have the factory skids which is great. It even has a skid plate on the gas tank. I'm not sure what package it came with from the factory but whoever bought it in the first place way back on '02 set themselves up with a pretty sweet little rig. It has the limited slip as well.

Ground Clearance: How Much is Enough?

Yeah, I think the OME lift is a for sure in the future. And probably going up to 245/75/16s. Maybe a 31? Can you fit a 31 with the 927/948 lift? I guess I could add the clevis lift and isolators to add more height if I need it. I don't really wanna deal with re-gearing because it sounds like...

Ground Clearance: How Much is Enough?

So one of the things I'm looking to do more of with the KJ is overlanding type trips deeper into the mountains and surrounding landscape here in Montana (and beyond probably). I've never been super interested in hard off roading or driving through very hard trails just to do it. So one of the...

Who Has The Oldest Liberty Here?

Mine is a 2002, build date of 06/01. 149k miles on it. I have no idea on owner history, tbh.
