    I am about to replace the plugs which I do every two years and considering replacing the coils. The OEM are outrageously priced but I see other brands that I can buy six for considerably less and like to have some recommendations.

    Sorry to hear that but an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I am very glad that I still do not live in the rust belt. Even though we has salt from the Oceans it is nothing like Michigan with the salting the roads but even then I held it at bay.

    As stated above keeping the vehicle cleaned and wax as needed. My 2005 Jeep stays outside so it get 4 polymer paste waxing a year plus liquid waxing when needed to keep up the shine. My engine bay is also done at every cleaning.

    I use 10w40 in the summertime and 5w30 after September.

    If you believe your heads are fine I would add a little thicker oil in the summer months.

    I will ask a different question is it better to pay extra for remanufactured plug and play than reconditioned. I am foregoing pulled units since the programming is a bit of a hassle.

    New purchase questions

    Do not forget about the speakers most likely will need replacement unless it been garaged. My 2005 Limited has 157,000 miles bought new the repairs have been A/C-2 compressors and a rearend, beside those 2 problems been a great little SUV.

    You are missing the main point. The gas tank was fiberglass and through Chryslers own testing found that the tank ruptured at a far higher rate then the standard gas tank. Instead of correcting the flaw they kept on installing the sub par tanks because of the cost saving that help their bottom...
