That picture you have posted isn't of the KJ hazard switch. :)
Is it possible that you had accidently reached into the middle of the insturmment panel and bumped it? I don't think anyone has ever reported an issue like this.
I'm very happy that you are enjoying those tires. The Destination A/T's are by far, some of the best all around tires out there.
Down in the review section, on this board, there is a review of these tires that includes my update after 30K miles of use. It should give you an idea of what to...
People lift their vehicles when there is a need.
I'm still unlifted and I do OK. But then again, I don't really go crawling over rocks.
If my springs took a set, I haven't noticed. It still rides just like it always has.
Honestly man, you did a bang up job and even helped clear out some of the myth to the 2002 & 2003+ motor compatibility discussion.
I hope your KJ brings you plenty of troublefree miles from now on.
KB is still very active here on the boards... maybe he can update you on the results of his refoaming project. I never even really thought about refoaming.
I would really rip all of the OEM stuff out and just replace with aftermarket (wiring and all) if it's time for new speakers.
To save yourself the trouble - send it to an audio shop and let them do the labor...
You can not just replace the OEM speaker with an aftermarket unit if you...
I would ditch the KJ and get the TJ if you had big off roading plans for it.
KJ greater than TJ for daily driving needs
TJ greater than KJ at moding / offroading [less fragile]
Isn't the true size of Chrysler door speakers 6.75" not 6.5"? Thus necessitating the need for the adaptor ring? Some speakers are even sold with a mounting flange that meets both 6.5" and 6.75" mounting patterns.
best part of the study is the "variation in friction" at the moment of rollover... I.E. they were testing in uncontrolled conditions and then blame the OEM.
What a crap test.
Anyway. Long live the Liberty.
I read the Autoweek article once but can't find it right now.
The "driver" was doing around 40MPH though a slalom course and produced a roll over. AT 40MPH! Who slalom's a freaking Liberty? $(@(#*%'s, the lot of them. This all results in DiamlerChrysler running to make the change and...
You couldn't even buy 2002 springs back in 2003 (after the April change over) All KJ's were to be fitted with the shorter units if required.
The taller springs were too unstable to be driven by anyone. [/sarcsm]
No need for anything fancy in the KJ.
Stick with a standard copper plug or run Autolite Double Platinum's. Most of us run the Double's because they don't wear out nearly as fast as the copper but still need to be changed every 30K miles.
I tired Iridium and saw no benefit after 30K...
Correct. The replacement units are from MOOG.
I think I am on my 3rd set of balljoints as well. But honestly I haven't noticed any problems. Even with the OEM parts, I didn't have any complaints. But me being completly stock might have something to do with it as well. [dunno]
It's a Chrysler - they don't design them for disassembly. They only really design them for assembly. Back when I worked there the Maintence procedures were only drafted after the whole interior was well defined and almost through prototyping. Very much an afterthought IMO.
