    have you taken the wheels off and inspected brakes? shouldnt cause the wheels to lock but could be brake related, specially if you are smelling something burnt.

    Yep lifetime warranty and the ratchet and sockets are fine. I used a friends kobalt tools this weekend, from lowes, they were fine. The old kobalt tools were made by snap on, not sure if they still are or not.
