    Air Conditioner Troubles

Finally got the problem solved. Not entirely happy with how the whole situation went, but at least it is resolved. It turns out that it was the compressor. Finally got it to do it as I was getting to the dealership. Also, is it possible for a faulty compressor to rob the Jeep of power? I just...

    upgrading advice?

Cold Air Intakes do not gain a huge amount of power on the KJ (around 8 horsepower I've seen), but K&N or AEM seem to be popular. Mopar's cold air intake also just plain looks cool if you can find it. Exhaust all depends on what you like and what you intend to use the Jeep for. If you are not...

What type of car wash do you use?

It should just unscrew. If it is stubborn then someone probably really cranked it on there to tighten it.

    New Badges..

We still have the crappy window regulators, don't worry lol. I also had to debadge mine for the exact same principle. Mine has always had multiple coats of wax and that did not do anything to keep the badging from deteriorating.

Stock lib going on 1st aftermarket

You can pick up an OEM spec Fram for like $8. K&N is supposed to be really good, as long as you are not driving in excessively dusty conditions, but those are around $45. There are also other aftermarket air filters that promise increased airflow but I cannot vouch for how effective they are.

Would you buy your KJ again???

I have loved mine and it has been my first vehicle for going on 6 years now. It still serves its purpose well, but I voted no, meaning that if it came to replace this, I would not get another KJ. That is just because I have switched my interests to where I would prefer something small that...

which way to go grill guard or bull bar

Moderator Warning Mod Note This thread is two posts away from being locked. Once again, the OP asks a question that, admittedly, is asking for opinion regarding the item. However, personal attacks on other users' vehicles and how they are used will not be tolerated. Continuation of this type...

    Air Conditioner Troubles

Of course, yesterday for its appointment it was 65 degrees and we could not replicate the problem. Today, about 80, and it seems to only do it when the system is on recirc. I'm starting to not like this thing.

    03 renegade grille guard!HELP!

If I went with you on a Jeep Jamboree, wouldn't I be offroad? The point I'm making is the OP asked whether or not it would fit, not whether or not everyone on here supported or was against their purchase of a brush guard. I knew I was going to aggravate some people on here with that, but it's...

    03 renegade grille guard!HELP!

Some of us personally like the look of the Westin and spend the majority of our time on paved roads, so the loss of tow hooks is not a huge sacrifice, especially when not equipped in the first place. It's also more like $500 more. Westin goes for about $300 and all ARB guards I have seen are...

New here, Pictures of my 2004 Sport 4x4 Lifted

Smoked would be cheaper and a project you could do yourself, but clear would look sick imo.

    Air Conditioner Troubles

trail rated, great article. That was the kind of things I've been looking for. I would not rule out moisture in the lines, but more than likely, I am thinking it is one of the electric issues listed at the end. The fan clutch was replaced, so evidently that was contributing to the problem, but...

    Air Conditioner Troubles

Unfortunately it works fine for the first 10-20 minutes, but they don't listen and keep signing off on it when it's cold when it first starts up. I don't think it's a leak because the first time it was not unusual and now it was perfect on the last service, so it's not that. I keep thinking the...

    Oil light / idiot light

It was awhile back, so I'm not positive, but I believe it was only around $80 for the dealer to replace it, so it's not a horribly expensive fix. I'm not sure as to how or where it is located though....

    Air Conditioner Troubles

Well, dealership had it overnight. Replaced a "fan clutch", said it was fixed, and the problem continues, so back it goes, and it's getting unfriendly......

    Pretty bad oil leak

Simple Green Max works great. I think it was about $5, it's strong, and it's biodegradable. However, Powerslave is most definitely right. It goes back to the "measure twice, cut once" thing of making sure what you are fixing is actually the problem.

Pics of oil filter on KJ after first synthetic oil change.

Wow. Just a warning I got from a mechanic about switching to synthetic on higher mileage engines. He told me that he has seen a few motors that were destroyed because the synthetic broke up deposits past the filters and it was dragged through the motor. Obviously, you are very aware of changing...
