Get the cheapest Champion or NGKs you can find. Not kidding. I spent $50 on Bosch Platinums that were supposed to be the best you could get. Jeep got 16 mpg highway (averaged over a 1000 mile road trip through level desert) and ran like crap after I put them on. I then went to Napa, spent $8 on...
Very nice. Btw, I'm agreeing with everyone else and saying definitely listen to tjkj about the suspension stuff. He knows what he's talking about. Be sure to post pictures of the steel bumper once you get working on it. A few people on here have tried with varying degrees of success. As for the...
The description on Meguiars shows it as using "microabrasives." That gives me the impression that it is simply a reduced strength version of a rubbing compound with less cut.
I'd be careful using it too much though. I've always been under the impression that ScratchX is a mild version of a buffing compound. Although it can be effective, using it excessively could also remove the clear coat from your vehicle.
I had the same thing when I just replaced my battery for another Walmart one. The KJ routinely does things that defy any sort of rational logic I've discovered haha
I'm right up there with you. 140k here. A few minor quirks, but still getting 21 mpg freeway and most people don't believe it's almost 9 years old (built in October 2001).
What they said. Colorado is gorgeous up in the mountain passes. I'd give yourself two days in Vegas if possible. Make sure you book ahead too. The prices of rooms on the strip fluctuate a lot depending on the weekend (I've seen the same room be $120 one weekend and $400 the next)
Not trying to be rude, but if you never go offroad, then what's the point of either? The KJ is going to have quirks with virtually any lift kit and skid plates are nearly worthless on-road (except mine protected me from a mattress that fell off a truck in front of me, but that's another story).

Check out Katzkin. Most estimates I've seen put a totally custom interior at about the same price as a leather upgrade from the factory. Depends on if you are wanting a whole new frame or not though.
I get about 16 mpg city and 20 mpg highway on mine. I'm running BFG Long Trail Tours filled with nitrogen, so not spinning much weight compared to some of you on here.
Thanks! I'll try to surf around a little bit, but I definitely wont be on here anywhere near as much as before.
As for the light, I'll take a look at the seat connectors. There's a few under there, so that'll be a saturday project. I know it's not the seatbelt latch. I had that a few years...
After doing a search through the website, I haven't been able to find my particular problem. Every so often (probably about 1 out of 5) starts, my Jeep throws the "Airbag" light on the instrument cluster along with the chime. I've noticed that I can aggravate the problem by moving around in the...
Although I had a hard time reading your post, I would have taken it back to them. Why pay for something and go through the time and trouble of redoing what they were supposed to have done? After all, that's why you have and pay for insurance....
I'd actually agree with Ryan here. While we all obviously enjoy the KJ, there are something like 800k KJ's on the road worldwide now. It's not exactly a cult following like the Mini or the Corvette. Wrangler owners still tend to be slightly elitist towards the KJ since, after all, they did spend...
I have to say that looks like a pretty important part of bracing for the sunroof. I'm not sure exactly where it goes, but it sure looks like a support to me.
