    Speedometer illumination

Yeah, but VWs and Audis have nutty electrical stuff. I hope Jeep is more normal than that...

    Speedometer illumination

I've noticed lately that my speedo is no longer well illuminated in the 30-45 mph area. Has anyone replaced a speedo bulb yet and is there anything unusual that I need to know? I'll poke my head up under the dash this weekend in the daylight, I just want to know about any "gotchas" in advance...

Where are you guys mounting the switches in the cab? Anyone try mounting a switch in a spot that turned out to be a bad idea - something we should avoid? Thanks!

    Where are all the Trac-Locs?

I wanted the selectrac with full-time 4wd for the ever changing New England road conditions. I also wanted an LSD. 4x4 POP!

Drive right over there and take the service writer out and demonstrate the noise for him. This way there will be no doubt that something is going on, AND since you brought it to their attention "right away" they won't say you ignored a serious problem and refuse to cover it.

    What's Missing?

Well, I suppose you could stow them under the seats, but I just keep mine in the garage. I don't carry a lot of people in the back seat, and as far as I'm concerned, having better visibility adds more to my overall safety than rear seat headrests do. People ride with me at their own risk! O:)

    What's Missing?

I always take off my rear headrests so I get a better view in the rearview mirror.

    4x4 at what speed?

Do you move the transfer case lever slowly and dliberately with a pause in each position, or are you pulling it quickly to the desired position?

    4x4 at what speed?

Now, I am going to repeat what my salesman told me. Yes, yes, I know, most salesmen are not to be trusted about anything technical :^o , so take this with many grains of salt. Anyhow, what my guy said was that you can really shift into full-time 4wd at 70 or 80, but that Jeep wouldn't say so...
