Roof Rack Tires: How to lift them on and off?

Geek's idea sounds cool. Would also minimize the wind drag. Simpler solution: could you manage it if you brought a ladder with you? A six foot aluminum ladder would fit just fine on top along with the tire, and might be easy enough to get down. Probably make a lot of noise up there... Another...

    hid opinion

The warmup time is annoying, but they are drivable in about 10 seconds, and fully warm in under 30 so its not that big a deal. Just different. As far as blinding others, its important to point them correctly. If thats done, I dont think they are any worse than a halogen.

Try the DDM tuning kit. Its a good price, so if you decide that HID's are overrated, you didnt waste a lot of money. I use them on my other car (6K, 35w). The color is basically daylight colored but are they actually brighter than a good halogen? probably not, just different. Its a personal...

    Type 43 Light

Okay, apparently I dont. I did, however, figure out that I was different kind of idiot than I felt like you were calling me. My reasoning for this statement was that I could have sworn that I saw this thing illuminated sometimes, and other times it was completely invisible. There is no...

I appreciate the input but I promise you I know the difference between a lighted indicator and paint with sunlight shining on it. Any other ideas?

    Type 43 Light

Tried searching on this, and found one thread where the consensus on the little "type 43" at the bottom of the instrument cluster was that it was the model number of the cluster. Fine. My question is, why would it sometimes be lighted, and sometimes not? Cant find any reference in the...

    Differential service quote

    Advisability of replacing windshield seal?

Havent done anything yet. We got about 6 inches of snow and ridiculous winds the last last few days and still no water evident so I will probably just leave it alone for now and focus on more pressing issues.

Not by choice, but joined the Tommudd Club again :-(

Thats why I dont lock my doors anymore except in heavily populated areas where a shattering window would get noticed. Steal my old stuff? Thats an excuse to go buy new stuff! Break my window? Thats just a PITA. Picking glass out of the carpet for weeks blows. Of course, you could get a better...

    Left speakers dont work

Thanks. Of course I made that last post BEFORE searching (like some kind of noob). I did find several threads that tell me the same thing you did. I guess I just have to grow a set and pull harder. No separate fuses for the amps, but there are a couple of connections to check.

Got the oil and front diff done today. Changed the trans. oil too but had the wrong filter from the parts store, and didnt have other wheels available to go get the right one so I had to put the old filter back in again. Went back to the parts store afterwards, and they didnt charge me the extra...

    What would it be?

Believe the gatorback part number is 4060865. At least, thats what I ordered today and no, I couldnt look it up by vehicle. Had to find the belt length and ribs. $22 after shipping from amazon (dont remember the actual supplier name) I bought one for another vehicle from Summit racing, but I...

    Advisability of replacing windshield seal?

Thanks all. So the concensus seems to be for me to not do it myself, including from one actual glass guy. Fair enough. Dave, the leak seems to be from the side of the windshield (vertical section), thats probably why no water but I will take a closer look before I put out any money on it.

    Advisability of replacing windshield seal?

Any advice on replacing the windshield seal? I have some air noise and can feel leakage when I put my hand up there, but it seems to keep water out. Not sure if this is something I want to mess with or not...Have heard a lot of horror stories, but not sure how true they are.

Fixed the broken PCV inlet line today. Used some nice heavy duty rubber hose and plastic fittings. Should hold up much better than the brittle OEM stuff. Next up: troubleshoot the D side speakers and change the fluids.
