How long will a typical Jeep Liberty engine last?
Mine has 157,300 miles. Has had the ECM, water pump, heater core, radiator, both front ball joints changed. Run Castrol GTX 5x30 with Lucas synthetic oil treatment, NGK V-Power (copper core) plugs, K&N oil and air filter. It took 2hrs because it was 23 degrees F outside and 10-15 mph winds. You couldn't feel your hands after 2min. Also the first time I ever dismantled a column, not fun to do outside and in the dark even with a friend.- 2002KJLimited

CB Antenna in Existing Antenna Mount
I mounted my antenna off the rear tire carrier, used a mount that clamps onto one of the stud nuts from the carrier to the body. What did you do to your jeep today?
I opened the entrance up to the edges and smoothed it all out to the machined area near the blade, didn't mess with the blade area. Should really help smooth out the air flow through the TB.- 2002KJLimited

Cheap Performance Mods
Has anyone ever tried swapping a 2004 and later KJ intake tube to to a 2002 KJ? I got one at a pull-a-part for almost nothing, cleaned it, wrapped it, and installed it. Only thing is figuring out what to do with the valve cover breathers, I might just join them together and put a pod filter on them.- 2002KJLimited

03 3.7L Jeep liberty oil issue. need help troubleshooting
Even when I changed mine it still consumed oil, the plugs may appear clean because the engine is burning the small amount of oil without carbon buildup. It's not worth it to do much else, just keep up with using quality oil and filters. Adding a quart every month or two isn't a big deal.- 2002KJLimited

It's most likely a combo of worn rings, seals, and vents. Best bet is to change pcv valve and add some Rislone Compression Repair to the oil, the stuff helps cushion worn bearings and fills scratches in the cylinder bores as well as revive old seals. Ignition Switch The ignition switch can cause the engine to turn over but not spark, its like $30 at Advance Auto. It only take 2 hrs to change it, you need a set of security torx bits for the steering column.- 2002KJLimited

Cheap Mods I grabbed an intake tube from a 2004 KJ and a throttle body. Port&Polished the throttle body, wrapped the tube with DEI cool tape, installed a K&N air filter.
