Larger tires, tread design and power loss?

Yes please, I'd love to see them:) HJ thank you for your help. I really wonder if someone else has actually tried and experienced the largest street tire size without power loss. I have asked about it later in the posts in this thread, but since the title is not about this subject, I'm not...

Larger tires, tread design and power loss?

Well, 235/70's look way too small on the lifted KJ. Trademarks available here are a little different from US, for street tires, I'm looking for the best price/performance ratio. Kumho 245/70/16 Road Venture APT KL51 has got good reviews, and the price is very suitable. Or maybe Pirelli...

Larger tires, tread design and power loss?

Thank you HJ. But before I buy, any other ideas? Let me repeat the question:

Larger tires, tread design and power loss?

No it's a gasser with automatic transmission. I think I'd better buy smaller street tires, less noise, more MPG, more accelerataion, etc. But I don't know what size to prefer, 235/70/16 or 245/70/16 as HJ says? I have little time left for the long trip. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Larger tires, tread design and power loss?

Well, that cancels my option to "regear", because it's nearly impossible to find the parts and get it done here. I imported a lift kit, paid huge amounts during importation and also had a very hard time getting it installed.:favorites68: I don't even want to think what the cost would be this...

Larger tires, tread design and power loss?

Thank you for the valuable feedback. "Regearing" is changing gear ratios, right? God, I never thought I would need regearing with 245/75 STT's:( How is it done? If I need to change a gearwheel in the transmission, I'd better forget about it (insufficient technical assistance here). I could...

Larger tires, tread design and power loss?

After lifting my Renny, I replaced my stock 235/70/16 street tires with 245/75/16 Cooper STT's, which have rather agressive tread design. Since then, my vehicle has dramatically lost power. I feel it mostly when I need instant acceleration and while going uphill. I hit the gas, engine roars but...

    Spacers on a suspension lift?

Tony, clevis lift is already done, I had always thought I could go over 20" with the 2" lift and clevis, but I couldn't. So all I can do is add 3/8" shims like Boiler's, right? But that is even less than 1 cm:(

    Spacers on a suspension lift?

Twack, long Tall texan, thank you very much really. I'd better stick with the stock UCA anyway cause I can't rely on the people around the place I live to make such a vital part. It may cause a terrible accident. In this case, instead of looking for .75" or 1" poly spacers, isn't it better...

    Spacers on a suspension lift?

I really don't want to import auto parts like UCA's. Only with polyurethane spacers, I might have a chance to get through the customs without any problems. Now, sitting at 20", can I add 1.5" poly spacers without issues, like the ones below...

    Spacers on a suspension lift?

I'm on gas. I live in Turkiye. Kj is a rare vehicle here, so are it's parts. No aftermarket UCA here. I imported my lift kit from the US for the same reason. I had unbelevable difficulties retrieving the kit at the customs and paid shocking amounts including taxes and customs fees. I'm not...

    Spacers on a suspension lift?

If I go about 1.5" higher in my case (about 21.5" in total), shall I still need new UCA's? That's important for me, because there are no aftermarket UCA's for the KJ here, and importing automotive parts is a real nightmare.

I'm standing at a little more than 20". This is what makes me think I could go a little higher.

    Spacers on a suspension lift?

A few months ago I got my KJ lifted about 2" using a full suspension lift. A full BDS lift with Rancho rear shocks. You know, "do it right the first time", so did I. They told me this would happen.. Now I want what people who are already lifted want: More lift:) I was planning to get front...

    Turtle Wax Results..

Thank you, 67customs. Well it's been while since all these happened.. Since then, I did a lot of research on scratch, swirl and chip repair, touch up paint, wet sanding, etc. I also purchased a machine buffer(Einhell) with 150 mm pads and 75 mm spot pads. I also did practice. It's a long...

Couldn't find any local dealers in my area, but it's possible to buy them online. I'm continuously reading/watching how to videos about the subject, and it looks like I have to apply rubbing compound to get a scratch/swirl free surface. Don't you agree?

You mean car care services? Yes, the best ones are Ziebart, 3M, Autowax and Sonax. I've also talked to a car paint repair service to learn the products they prefer as compounds and polishes, waxes. They buy in bulk and don't use any of the over the counter products. They prefer brands that...

The exterior detailing costs $150 with ordinary car care services and $200 with well known ones. It's not only about the price though. I really enjoy learning and working on things like these on my own. Besides, despite being professionals, I've seldom seen them providing that mirror like...
