Just installed some front tow hooks. Pics inside

Thanks. I also ordered a KJ rear tow hook for my KK. The mounts look almost identical, but if it doesn't bolt right up, I'll just fab a bracket for it. My rear hook is coming from back east, so hopefully I'll get it on by Wednesday or so. I'll post some pics of it as well.

Just installed some front tow hooks. Pics inside

Thanks to a fellow member here, I found out that the older KJ mopar tow hook accessory kit would work for the KK as well. I got the kit ordered through my parts department for about $80. With the older kit, you get two hooks. With the new KK tow hook kit, you get one hook for the passenger...

    which pipe is leaking?

The instructions that were on Dealer connect are pretty vague. Here they are- REMOVAL - RETURN HOSE (RESERVOIR TO THE COOLER) Siphon the power steering fluid from the reservoir. Remove the return hose from the pump reservoir. Remove the return hose at the cooler. Remove the return hose from...

    P0455 code costs?

I have seen numerous people that take their Jeeps offroad hit the evap canister with rocks, logs, etc., and crack them. The two most common causes are split evap lines and loose gas caps. Is your cap OEM? I have seen a few brand new aftermarket locking gas caps cause a P0455 on people's cars...

    Window regulator blues!

It is a known problem, and your warranty is up by time, not mileage. If I were you, go to your local CDJ dealer and ask if they will do a Goodwill on your warranty. This is where they will cover a repair for you if your vehicle is barely out of warranty. Since it is such a known and common...

    engine bogging down after start!

Could be a few different things. If your torque converter is staying locked up when coming to a stop, it could bog down the engine. This typically causes a stall condition though, and is continuous, not intermittant like what you are describing. Your IAC motor (Idle air control motor), located...

    Slow to reverse?

It's actually a cool feature. It keeps you from having to work the pedals with both feet if you are on an incline.

    which pipe is leaking?

That is the line that goes from your power steering pump to the power steering cooler. It is a pretty simple and inexpensive repair. Just drain as much fluid as you can from the reservoir, remove the line, install the new one, and fill the reservoir. Run the steering wheel side to side, and keep...

    Slow to reverse?

Mine does the same thing. If parked on an incline, your hill start assist is on. This locks the brakes so that you don't roll. If I remember correctly, the brakes hold for 3-5 seconds, then release. This is the hesitation you are experiencing. If it bothers you too much, there is a procedure in...

Photo of the inside of a 231 t-case I worked on today

The service manual says that you can use either RTV or anaerobic sealant to seal the two case halves. I use the anaerobic sealant just because the two halves are aluminum. I think it seals better than RTV. The ATF sits approximately halfway up the front output gear. The oil is slung all over...

Who makes rock rails for the KK?

What makes RRO so bad? Bad service, crappy products, poor manufacturing?? All of the above?:D I'm just wanting to know so that I can make a good, informed decision when it comes time to purchasing rock rails.

Who makes rock rails for the KK?

The Super Sliders were the only ones I could find, and they look like a great setup. Like I said, they were the only ones that I could find, so I figured I would ask to see who else made them. No kidding. It was hard to tell what they looked like based on the pics that I saw. I like them...

No the 231 is simple. The full time 4WD transfer cases are more complex. They usually have clutch packs, magnetic clutches, viscous couplers, etc.

Who makes rock rails for the KK?

I recently put a set of Mopar step bars on my 08, and decided that I would rather have rock rails. Nothing wrong with the bars, it's just that I paid $450 for them and they are hollow, and I would be extremely p****d off if i caved one in on a rock. I routinely go off into some nasty terrain...
