    Convential Oil, who uses what?

You might want to re-think about that oil change interval. I spoke with a oil engineer recently. He said the most important thing about oil is changing it. No matter what you run, a lot of dirt and blow-by gets into the oil. If you don't clean it, it leads to sludge formation. They can only...

    Brush Guard vs. a deer

How about some pictures of that crash bar? What kind is it?

In Channel vs. Stick on Ventvisor?

Someone else must think so too. :-({|= They bought a set of DrawTites, didn't like them, and sold all 4 to me for $10. (whistle) The front ones seem to work great but I may leave the back ones off. :-k I prefer to have air enter from the back windows and exit out the front. With the vent...

Brush guard vs Wind deflector or both?

Bullbar Thanks. I saw it on the '05 but hadn't seen it on earlier models (different bumper). Will check it out! burnout.gif

Brush guard vs Wind deflector or both?

I like your bumper guard! Not too high or low, clean design. Who makes it?

HOW TO: Install an EVIC or OTIS (overhead computer)

installation tip If you're installing an EVIC from a Grand Cherokee, the light recepticle will probably not fit the Liberty connector. No Problem. Simply disassemble your old light wiring (from the overhead light you just removed) and swap it onto your new overhead console. (bigear)

    Aftermarket sunroof

The message is loud and clear. What a great forum and a great group! Thanks for the sage advise. I'll just get some vent visors instead and save the money for -- skid plates.

Has anybody had any experience with an aftermarket sunroof in your Liberty? Would like to add one, but am a little aprehensive.

    RB1 Nav. radio review

Sirius radio Sorry, I have no experience with the Sirius radio. I recall seeing that the RB1 has 10 presets for Sirius and is listed as "Sirius capable". The RB1 installs exactly like your basic radio -- same plugs; perfect swap. It just has, in addition, a recepticle for the GPS antenna...

HOW TO: Install a GPS antenna in an '04 Jeep Liberty

antenna location This is the factory location. It looks up through the plastic dash cover and windshield. Perhaps the size of the antena pod makes up for any loss through these materials? One of the screen readouts indicates how many satellites the nav unit is currently receiving. I get all...

Resetting the Estimated MPG on the EVIC

Miles remaining According to the owners manual, 'miles to empty' is calculated by "multiplying the amount of fuel remaining by projected fuel economy. The distance will change every few seconds...as these factors change." To explore the idea, I let the fuel gauge go to empty while watching...

Your favorite year for the Lib.

'04 because they had a couple of years to get the inevitable bugs out before things got ugly in '05. Changing to rear wheel discs in '03 was a nice part of the evolution -- surprised nobody mentioned it. A lot of little refinements in '04 including fuel management improvement. Wouldn't know...

HOW TO: Install a GPS antenna in an '04 Jeep Liberty

The objective here is to mount the GPS/Nav. antenna on top of the instrument cluster assembly and underneath the instrument cluster cowling. This procedure shows how to access the 7 screws that retain that cowling. (Steps 2 through 5 also apply to accessing the instrument cluster for...

Resetting the Estimated MPG on the EVIC

Except "Service interval" which has to be reset separately. :-k Resetting your MPG can show mileage performance on trips, commutes, or segments of your route. When you reset it, it starts all over again from that point until you reset it again. \:D/ You can do the same thing with miles to...

    gas miliage

mileage 1. The Liberty is not an aerodynamic vehicle. Mileage drops quickly with speed. 2. The Liberty is not a light-weight. Stop and go driving with a 4000 lb. vehicle takes its toll. That said, the 3.7 is a durable and efficient engine -- with a difficult mission! Your driving...

    Platinum spark plugs?

I've used the platinum plugs as an OEM replacement, mainly because they last so long. You can just drop them in and forget it. Bosch (and others) is pushing their "plus 2" and "Plus 4" multiple gap plugs as a performance item. Bosch guarantees you'll notice a difference or they'll buy them...

    RB1 Nav. radio review

RB3 If anyone runs across an RB3, it is a European version of the RB4 -- would not be a good install for the US, but would probably be the first choice for any overseas members! You may occasionally see an older Mopar Visteon Navmate 2.0 that preceded the current offerings. It was available...

    RB1 Nav. radio review

The current edition came out July 04. The folks at Alpine are nebulous about when the next release will be (a "few" months). The discs not only contain the database, but the latest firmware instructions as well. For instance the current disc (PN 05064033AC) makes a change that displays the...
