I think one may be long tall texan or twack with the daystar and the little spacer on top. I believe it was ltt since he has the 3d printer but twack was the one messin around with daystar and ome so I am not sure.
There are also pics of cherokees so I think he is just taking pics from forums...
I have them and love them. They do great in mud, sand, and rocks. I just wish I had a locker in front cause I have one tire in the air a lot on some of the tails.
EDIT:
I had a hard time in soft soil going up some steep hills but I dropped my tires down to 23psi and I just walked over...
Touche. I haven't seen any but I didn't want to make a broad statement like that without knowing for sure.
I've been toying with the idea of adding them to some of the bushings. Just wish the ball joints had zerks.
You guys are crazy! I've rested the diffs in mud (which is probably when crap got into my axle seal and started killing it), but nothing like what you guys have done.
I really like trails more than mud, though.
What about those sheets of urethane like they use for cell phone skins? I just don't know how they would deal with the heat.
Edit: if I can find the half sheet I got I can mail it to you and I can try it out. It wouldn't cover the entire light but it would be enough to test it out.
What diesel isn't sold in california that is sold in other states? Passing by dealerships and taking to people I see plenty of diesel cars and trucks being bought here in california.
Just how I did mine except I used a screwdriver to pry the old seal out and gouged a little bit of the outer surface so I highly recommend NOT doing what I did.
One trick I figured out is the part of the clevis that bolts to the shock is the perfect size to use to seat the new bearing in since...
This thread would be great if people weren't so defensive. There have been valid points for both.
It would be great to have a specific topic or point and then have one or two people from each side debate it in a civilized manner.
I think I've been listening to too much npr :-P
In most cases I prefer a diesel to a gas engine. typically you just need to keep the fluids clean and you are good.
Our cargo vans and trucks at work are all diesel except one van and the van needed a new engine at about 175k and the diesel vans (sprinters) are going on 200k+ and 300k+ all on...
on my '06 it is useful cause it gives my passenger something to hold on to when on trails, but if I am a passenger I have a tendency to hit my knees on it or come close to it.
Good stuff, dalton! Looks good!
I was surprised at how nice the ride is after the 927/948 settled in after a few hundred miles.
Your build is one I and probably many others are interested in because you're starting off young and on the right foot.
me, too.. awesome pictures! The only one I have is weak compared to these, but was my stupid first 2 weeks of ownership seeing if a stock KJ can handle the mud pit at hollister hills:o
