    Weird movement

That's odd...did you feel suspension movement, or was it a driveline sensation? Completely off-topic, and just outta curiosity, what kind of gas mileage do you see with 3.21s?

P0300 code along with 3 seperate cylinders Renegade Liberty 2003 3.7

Only one way to find out, and it costs nothing. Cap the line and see if you still get a misfire code.

    The well known speedometer issues.

I don’t have Tom’s breadth of experience, but I tend to agree. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of the PCM reset needed for something like this, it just doesn’t make any sense to me. The system sees a voltage from that wire or it doesn’t, what exactly are they going to reset? It doesn’t “learn”the...

    Help with driveline noise

Welp, new Spicer you joints installed today and no change. It doesn’t surprise me, but $25 to conclusively rule them out isn’t the worst outcome. I suppose that leaves the new shaft from Detroit Axle. I’ll shoot them another message, but I’m almost the point of just dealing with the noise.

    Torque Specs for Rear Driveshaft

Yep, I said the same thing. Especially because of how big the fasteners are. But both sources, the factory shop manual and AllData show 13. And 22 ft-lbs for the little guys that hold the front shaft on.

    Torque Specs for Rear Driveshaft

Probably way too much, actually. The factory spec is only 13 ft-lbs. I had to check that three times when reinstalling mine. I had to use my impact wrench to get those buggers out of there.

P0300 code along with 3 seperate cylinders Renegade Liberty 2003 3.7

Yes, it certainly could. A leaky brake booster is a vacuum leak, which would cause your misfire at idle. Remove the line to the booster and cap it, then listen for your hissing noise and misfire. If no longer present, that’s your problem.

    Heater Core Revisited.

Are you sure your blend door is functioning properly? You could have a perfectly functioning heater core, but minimal air going through it.

    Help with driveline noise

I certainly haven’t given up, it almost feels like this is getting worse. I’ll be putting in new U-joints tonight to rule those out. I can’t find much information about running without a rear shaft, but some comments I’ve read suggest that the driveshaft yoke is required to seal the transfer...

    Help with driveline noise

Nope, no symptoms at all in reverse. Or below 50 MPH for that matter. Thinking about taking a test drive without the rear driveshaft. Not sure how I would protect the splines from contamination, though. I imagine anything I tried covering it with wouldn’t survive 3000 RPMs the shaft sees at 70 mph.

    Help with driveline noise

I spent about an hour under the car on jack stands with a hose clamp. Spun up the driveline with the hose clamp on different positions on the both front and rear driveshaft. None of the positions did anything but make the problem worse. At the end I left the transfer case in 2WD and just spun...

    Help with driveline noise

Yup, the OEM shaft had two weights still attached to it. It still sitting on my workbench, but I don’t really see a reason to reinstall. You gave me an idea though, I will experiment with some hose clamps this afternoon and see if it’s a shaft balance issue. This doesn’t sound like bearing...

    Help with driveline noise

Mine is an '04, Thanks for the reminder to update my signature. You’re more help than you think, I appreciate your perspective. This gets loud enough to almost drown out the radio at a reasonable volume. Perhaps it is normal?

    Help with driveline noise

I’m sorry, I should’ve been more clear in my post. I have the Selec-Track system. I've spent a lot of time researching this system, and I’ve never found a speed limit. I'm always open to being proven wrong, though; is there something I missed? It seems like some leave your vehicle in...

    Help with driveline noise

Good evening, guys. Looking for some suggestions tracking down this driveline noise. To me it sounds like U-joint noise, but it predominantly happens when in four-wheel-drive above 55 mph. It gets much louder when on the throttle, but is still there to a lesser degree when coasting. In 2WD...

Jeep KJ Liberty -Gates Tensioner and Belt !

Any idea how long the old part was on there? The bolts may have seized in there, rather than been over tightened. Just wanted to say I love this thread, for some reason geeking out over belts and tensioners is kinda fascinating to me. I hope you document all your maintenance this well and post...

P0300 code along with 3 seperate cylinders Renegade Liberty 2003 3.7

The crankcase breathers I've seen pipe into the intake before the throttle body, if that is the case then no. Take a good look at every vacuum line going into the intake manifold, particularly elbows and joints. A vacuum leak is anything that lets air into the manifold around the throttle body...

P0300 code along with 3 seperate cylinders Renegade Liberty 2003 3.7

The first thing that comes to mind with the misfire at idle is a possible vacuum leak. You really need to check your fuel trims before going further in my opinion. If you have have double double-digit positive positive fuel trims, that indicates the PCM has to increase the mixture to compensate...

    Jeep Liberty Noise

Hi Katie, and welcome to the forum. It almost sounds to me like you have a bad intermediate shaft. http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/f196/intermediate-shaft-symptoms-63175/ Unfortunately there is no way to determine this for certain without some disassembly, but the symptoms fit. The fact that...
