    Emergency brake seems weak?

Just curious, but how many realize there is a proper "break in" when new parking brake shoes are installed? I'm not trying to be critical. I just wonder how many know about it. I've found with my Jeep, it's best to let off the service brakes very slowly to let the parking brake engage. My...

    parking brake adjustment

Okay, here it goes. This is the best way I've found to adjust the parking brake on the KJ. First, block the front wheels so the vehicle can't roll. Jack the vehicle up, place it on jack stands and remove the rear wheels, calipers, and rotors. Next, put the vehicle in neutral so you can...

    02 V6 chain noise

(yeahthat) Most people have reported this as being "normal". Our '06 does it, but the '03 doesn't. Usually after then engine warms up for a few minutes it's gone.

    Head Gasket Issues?

Ummm. With due respect TBJ, if the cooling system goes over 16psi the cap opens and vents the pressure into the recovery tank. It wouldn't cause the radiator to blow. I've had head gaskets let go on several vehicles and never had a radiator fail because of one. Usually it's the other way...

Stock Intake Pipe V6 Liberty to V6 Dodge?

Here's a better question. Why do early model KJ's have them, but later models KJ's don't. My '03 has a resonator, and my girlfriend's '06 doesn't. They're both 3.7L's. Here's my theory. Either they don't make a bit of difference in performance and it's there just for aesthetics, or when...

    Seafoam?

I get a kick out of all this. Back before the days of computers and back when most cars, and trucks still had a carburetor bolted to the top of the engine, we would remove the breather and pour automatic transmissions fluid down the carburetor. It would pretty much do the same thing as...

Jeep Liberty Putco Grille 02-04 BRAND NEW

Some people must like it. Jeep started putting them on the KK. It's not my thing though. Seems like a fair enough price though.

    What happened??

Personally, I'd try replacing the pinion seal and then see what happens. It is possible that the seal is simply leaking, especially if it's a "new leak" as you say. After all, a new pinion seal is probably under $10, and there's no point in tearing the whole damn thing apart if it's just the...

    Electrical problem...

Did you ever get it figured out? Kinda sounds like a bad BCM or something to do with the wiring very close to it.

Rear tailgate glass self opens !!

Actually, if you look at a factory service manual there is a light green/white wire that, when put to ground, pops the rear flip glass. This wire is put to ground whenever you pull on the swing gate handle. It's my guess that this wire is being shorted out to ground. Search the FSM for...

Rear tailgate glass self opens !!

Our '06 did this about a week ago. At some point in the middle of the night the rear glass decided to open, which was freakin' nice because it rained all night!

Viper 5101 Remote Start Keyless Entry, Omega ChDL4-P

The rear glass is popped when you hold the "aux" button on the remote for a couple seconds. There is no wiring correction for though. I believe the signal is sent through the data bus connection to the OBDII plug. As for the rear defrogger/defroster, it's simple. Simply supply a -200mA...

Viper 5101 Remote Start Keyless Entry, Omega ChDL4-P

These are all the wires on the Viper 5101 This is the door lock interface wiring. Please note that the parking lights do not work through the module, therefore do not wire them through the door lock interface.

Viper 5101 Remote Start Keyless Entry, Omega ChDL4-P

Yes I have the Sentry anti-theft. No, I don't have any pics of the install. I could take a few snap shots though. I still have to wire up the parking lights, which means I have to get back in there anyway. I mounted everything on the plastic piece just above your feet.

    jeep on cinder blocks?

It depends on what you're using them for. If you're just using them to store the vehicle on, I would say they'd be fine. Just put a 2x6 board between the cinder block and the vehicle. I wouldn't substitue a jack stand for it or trust it enough to crawl under it.
