These heat gages lack a lot to be desired, because they have no numbers. The 1/4 mark is about 130*F if I remember right, wasn't really trying to check that mark. So the 1/4 mark is not 1/4 of the normal temp or even a 1/4 of the max temp at 130*F, I will check the 1/4 mark and get a for sure...
Something must be wrong with your CRD. I sat at idle yesterday for about 40 minutes with outside temp at 24*F and the gage dropped just a little, the inside temp control was set at low heat. Most of the time we have to run with the heater at where the blue and red line come together or a tad...
The CRD has a 1000W block heater and will raise the water temp to about 110*F is all and it will somewhat warm the oil in sump. However the CRD has some new tech in the engine warm up and idle ability.
The CRD has a vicisous heater for warming up the CRD quickly and to maintain heat while...

OVERVIEW...
If you want real heat and toasty warm engine get a stant heater that mounts in the lower heat hose. You can get a 1500W one and it will defrost your windows without the engine running when it's -2F outside. I had one on my '02 Jetta TDI diesel and man it would bring the engine coolant to 190 (it...
Hey I don't leave it in my Maggie all the time, but yes it will do everything it says it will do in your 3.7L. I generally only put it in the car for a road trip, or if I'm checking for something such as codes or just the general health of the car. Rest of the time it sits on the shelf because...
YES!!!
It has the proper drain hole for oil and a recess for the filter. All that is needed are a two 3/8" bolts and nuts, 4 washers, 2 lock washers, and about 20 to 30 minutes time.
The cross member has a 1/2" dia hole on the bottom side and 3/8" at the top. You can either drill up...
It's the transmission skid plate for the CRD and requires no drilling and take's less then 30 minutes to install. If you need the part number it's 82210003 for 05 model and I believe '06 also.
If that was in the mountians that's fine, but on level highway not good. You may need your IP adjusted, know how on manual old MB IP, and VW electronic controled IP with the program in my laptop. But no one has cracked the MB software as yet to make aftermarket dianostic software.
Bummer...
Our CRD Sport on it's first tank with all city driving, and I did flog it several ocassions, got 21 mpg. Then I did a 150 mile round trip on all 4 lane highway and it checked in at 27.7 mpg with CC set at 73 mph and I did two high speed passes to boot. No EVIC, all manual math.
I am running...
