Dont have a boot on the outer end?
magnaflux crack? like a hairline crack in hub that holds the bearing? bearing itself?
Not sure on your yoke bushing. Dont really have a ton of experience there on KJ's to point you any which way.
But if you are missing a boot on one of your CV, and the...
only time I have had a wheel bind up while turning was when a CV shaft failed completely on me.
Have you checked those?
Look for cracks or heavy wear on the boots.
If there is any way for you to see grease, then they are toast and need replaced. As soon as ANY water/grit from the road gets...
any reason not to use just regular old orange RTV for the diff covers?
Thats what came off mine, and I didnt even think twice about it and just cleaned it up and put new on.
Mines never leaked, and I change it once a year (its about time actually).
Here is what you need to do.
Take a bunch of pictures of your jeep.
Go to craigslist.
Write a really nice post about it and tell them everything you know about (even link in this thread).
Set your price around $3k.
Add in your photos.
Publish that ad. You need to get away from this jeep...
damn stevedave
looks like your kj got a case of coronavirus.
Is this torque?
Looks like a bunch of garbage to me. I would reset and see what happens.
I would also use a standalone OBD. Torque is good, but the programmer for that has been on his own for a long time, and he cannot possibly...
now your cooking with gas.
Got rid of all my hand cranks years ago and thought most others did too.
between the tongue jack and the leveling jacks, it cut my setup time on tent trailer in half.
I have only left the drill at home once, and even worse brought it with a dead battery once too.
Just saw these guys mentioned elsewhere, and hadn't seen them before.

They actually make a pair of KJ projectors. brace for sticker shock.
Maybe the leds as a whole are just bad, the drivers aren't always made of to the highest specs so its possible the switching internally there is failing.
Grab a cheap pair of standard bulbs and try them out (or if you can find a known good working bulb).
Nothing bolt on as far as different reflector/lens/ housing setups that I have seen yet.
The only real "upgrade" would be to go to projector/focused beam style headlights to increase the distance and concentration of light on the road, but I haven't seen anything made.
Some folks will cook...
How are the aftermarket leds connected?
Mine came with a different standard end but also had an adapter cable that matched the KJ's harness. plug and play no splicing.
If the wires are spliced then you are going to need to trace colors and see if they crossed something up. Service manual has...
I can tell you first hand it will clog the shit out of your radiator and heater core, and anywhere the block coolant channels has poor machining clean up where they have excess casting left, bypass hole in your thermostat etc.
My sister did exactly what you did and thought it would be some...
we just got some bosch beam style blades on our subie and they seemed nice, but anecdottaly about the same as every other beam style wiper I have had.
One of the blades had a defect in the edge from the factory (about 1/2" gap on the edge where it was nicked and caused a big streak, but a...
you get what you pay for.
Here, $100 battery's with a 3 or 5 year warranty almost never make it past 2 years. Sure you get some warranty to cover cost of a new one, but who wants to deal with the hassle?
The heat kills batteries because even though most are "sealed" now they are only sealed...
I used 3M rear view mirror adhesive. I used 2 entire kits and left it clamped for a long time, hasn't moved.
Or, as mentioned above, go to a glass shop and see if one of their techs will give you a squirt of their good stuff. Just clamp it and leave it up for a while.
Just make sure if you...
I have never seen conclusive results for one of these additives, they say it coats the engine with molybdenum to reduce friction giving you better gas mileage and less wear and tear.
We can measure this!
You need to start testing your oil through blackstone labs.
get a couple baseline...
I'm sorry, I cannot stand the thought of leaving the wrong fluid in there. I also cannot stand the thought of people getting taken advantage of.
I don't pretend to know for sure that it will damage your engine, because that depends on exactly what composition it is and color alone isn't enough...
local small claims courts throw the book at mechanics.
As a contractor, we had a mobile mechanic doing stuff like that and by the time we caught it and stopped him, it cost us a ton.
In the end we won and he was forced to cover all the costs of repairs, lost time for the employees left...
