I found that tab next to the shifter and popped it out. I stuck the car key into the hole, which allowed the shifter to move out of park, but it would not move more than half way to R. We tried stepping on the brake, turning the wheel, rocking the car, but it would not go into neutral. I...
My son and I pulled out the alternator last night. The 2008 Liberty has a big plastic tank over the whole top of the radiator, which is right in front of the alternator, but it wasn't too bad to get it free and pry it out.
I am a little puzzled about why the transmission is stuck in Park...
My son came home in his 2008 Liberty tonight, with the battery lamp lit on the dash and that distinctive burnt alternator smell.
He pulled in our driveway, blocking the other two family cars. His Liberty will not restart; it is electrically dead, and the transmission will not leave Park. I...
Coolant level is good, though it intermittently leaks somewhere. I did install a new radiator last summer.
The message is "TPM System Check", which is tire monitor and not temp. So never mind that message; one of the tire pressure sensor stopped communicating with the mother ship.
Any ideas...
I took advantage of the first above zero day since before Christmas to pull out that blender actuator,
The actuator operates properly. Using a 5/16” Allen wrench, I turned the blender door to various positions and still no warm air. I put it back together.
Before I started, I saw a dashboard...
The engine comes up to temp and operates in the middle of the gauge, but the air coming out of the dash, regardless of setting (Auto or the others), the air is cold. The fan works at all speeds, but for the past two days it only blows cold air. We have had subzero temps here in Minneapolis...
So the AC works, but does not put out enough cold air.
I hooked up a R134a recharge unit with a gauge, and observed that the compressor kicks in for 6 seconds and the shuts off for 6 seconds, and repeats. When the compressor is on, the gauge reads at the top of the green pressure range (good)...
Being in Minneapolis, the buckle on the rust belt, this KK is showing some signs of corrosion. The back window hinges are bubbling, as shown in this photo. Has anyone addressed this issue?
Drum brake within a disc brake
I first encountered this rear brake setup on a mid-70s Corvette, when they first offered rear disc brakes. I presently have a 2004 Chevy Silverado that has this type of brakes. I don't know if any manufacturers are still doing this; it seems to require more...
Working together, my son and I got the new radiator installed. It was a 7 hour project.
Working without instructions, it is much like exploratory surgery; starting removing things you can access until you get to where you are going.
What I can offer for advise is a list of things you will...
It takes a full hour after engine is turned off until it begins to leak, and it doesn't stop. I think that the pressure created by the warm engine will temporarily seal the leak. I am planning to remove/replace the radiator on Thursday. I will take a few pictures.
I understand that I need a radiator. I was hoping to hear from someone who has done one like this. I checked all of the online videos I can find, and none have the coolant/windshield washer reservoir on top of the radiator. I would like to know things like whether or not the grille should be...
Liberty I just purchased has a radiator drip, coming off the driver's side of the radiator. It starts to drip about an hour after shutting off the engine.
Assuming I need to swap out the radiator, I have looked on-line for a video, but they are all for earlier models. This one has the...
