Optional 4.0 Litter V6 on Nitro

I like the thought of extra HP and torque on the 4.0. More the better.... although I'd still rather see a 4.7 V8. Come on Jeep, it will fit! I also love the KJ, and I'm just glad that it's not getting axed (but then why would it... it's been a very successful Jeep!). (Cheers)

This means that the '08 Liberty will have a 4.0!

    1500 mile Trip

I know the theory on O/D.... it's just a low speeds, it like the motor is lugging, and therefore requires more gas to get it going. It would be like towing a trailer up a hill with O/D on.

    1500 mile Trip

Interesting that you said that about the O/D at 45 mph. I suspect that it actually lugs the motor at that speed and uses more gas. ???

Optional 4.0 Litter V6 on Nitro

I went to Dodge.com and noticed that the top of the line Nitro (R/T) comes with a 4.0 Liter V6 (260 hp/ 265 torque) instead of a 3.7 (210 hp/ 235 torque). I'm surprised that Dodge is not using the 3.8 V6 that is in the '07 Wrangler. For towing, the 4.0 V6 doesn't tow any more (5,000 lbs...

    1500 mile Trip

23.5 mpg at 75 mph?! Wow, I can get that at 65 mph, but going up to 75 drops my mpg by 2! Sounded like fun, including the shootin'! (Cheers)

Haloween Badlands Run - Sat 10/28/06

I'm considering this... as I'm about 45 minutes from the Badlands. I'm actually going to visit the Badlands with my TJ in two weeks to try it out. I'm taking a sick day to do so... lol!

MUST I get these things done?

My neighbor has a Grand Cherokee with 125k miles on it. He's never changed any of the fluids (such as differential, etc.) He just did the first full brake job on it (new everything). Interesting huh?

MUST I get these things done?

Like Tim said, just top off your coolant. I like to change it every three years, but I assume it's only been two years for you. Plus forget everything else.

    2008 Liberty

I also recall the early tests putting it with a CRV and RAV4... that was just too funny! So then let's see a 4.7 V8 in it. (Cheers)
