When I ordered the passenger side axle stub, it had actually ejected itself from the package at some point in transit. So at least you got the part? :D
Update… You know that button by the ignition that you have to press to turn your key to remove? Well, it self disabled itself the other day. Something broke, and now I don’t have to press it anymore ♂️
It sure did! I have a steel trailer with a fold up ramp, but the grates are spaced out a lot more. It pulls very easily.
I actually towed my old XJ on a dolly with my Liberty a few years ago. I got like 14.5mpg out of the deal ♂️
I towed an empty trailer to our deer camp this weekend to bring a brush mower back for my uncle. It was one of those aluminum trailers with the fold up ramp that catches wind like a sail. I couldn’t touch 6th gear with the head wind, but it was fine once I turned north. Today, I came back with...
I went on a grocery run yesterday. When I went to fire up the engine, it fired, stumbled, and died… It’s not the first time it’s happened, but it’s been frequent with the warmer temps we’ve had this week.
I miss my XJ’s so much. The Liberty definitely has better road manners, and mine’s been better for winter roads than my previous Cherokees, but I also went from an old every option Laredo XJ to a plain Sport KJ…
Not much new on the Liberty. I’ve just been driving to and from work. It’ll be...
I almost got rear ended while shifting from first to second gear… Again. It happens a couple times a month. I’ll just have to start ripping into second I guess ♂️
I use the same oil and filter. On my last change, I added some of the new Lucas low viscosity additive. It ran with less ticking, but the knock, of course, is there to stay. I just pretend I’m back in my old Cherokees and pretend the knock is harmless.
Jeep’s going under the knife tomorrow. I got the tie rod ends for the passenger side to do, and I’ll poke around at a few other things throughout the day.
Speaking of rustoleum, I’ll be doing some rust removal after this winter. I have some bubbles coming through the doors. It won’t be kosher. It may entail spray foam, if it’s bad enough. If not, just fiberglass and bondo. No shame, here.
I tried using a coupon there once that said “online only” in fine print. The manager wouldn’t even come down to the checkouts. I buy my red flavored tools at another store, now.
Open the fill hole, then open the drain plug. Once it’s empty enough, put the drain plug back in. I use a hand pump that screws right on the oil bottle. It looks like a soap pump. If auto stores don’t have them, look into boating supplies. They’re popular for filling the lower units on the motors.
