    Jeep got new front flex lines as one started to leak, sway bar bushes, and an O2 sensor. Had to make a short section of brake line as the stock fitting didn't want to turn independently of the line :(

    Have you pulled off an intake tube and checked that the turbo impeller spins freely? Heavy smoke on a diesel means too much fuel and not enough air.

    What is availability of reman ecu's in the states like? I know I got the last one from my auto parts store a few years back when I had to replace mine (i'm in Canada)

    I use a basic incandescent test light - hook the clamp to the positive post of the battery and probe the control side of the coil plug with the vehicle running - if the driver in the pcm is good the lamp will flash. you can also use a noid light - were common back in the day.

    Rear Upper Control Arm (Boomerang)

    I have found that with the vehicle on the ground put a breaker bar on a wheel nut and give it a quick stab in the tightening direction - if the ball joint on the upper arm has play you should be able to hear and see it move.

    That might be a good option as I currently have a single din radio in the Jeep - will have to check if Walmart Canada stocks it

    Got them off eBay - seller bought them but never ended up installing and then got rid of the Liberty.

    Changed steering rack bushings today - that was more work than it should have been! Drivers side bushing did not want to come out - had to bust out the flaming wrench :p Oh - and I pulled both heads off of a friends Tacoma today as well - she's burning a bit of coolant.
