Re-Imagining our "Beast" build. 4.7- Solid axle- bed conversion

That is really impressive fab work. Combine it with the engine swap and it becomes all the more impressive. It sounds like the original hacks cooked up a bonafide sh** sandwich. The problem is that it is very hard to change the type of sandwich. But you've made it a gourmet sh** sandwich.

    Liberty on the Rubicon

They ran it for the purposes of making good video. It was very entertaining. But I would like to see it run and documented in a more serious manner as well.

    KJ Liberty tire size upgrade

Ok, that makes sense. The tire calculator had your diameter at 32.5, which is the same diameter as nominal 33s.

How much lift do you have? You're essentially running 33s, so...

    235/70/16 Front + 265/75/16 Rear?

Smart move. That was much more than a little size difference. It was literally just a hair less than 10%. That would have been devastating to your driveline in 4wd.

    Hello from italy

Hello Zura, and welcome. I am an American in Ukraine. I don't have a KJ yet, but I will be buying somewhere between 1 and 6 from Italy in the coming months.

What are my locker options currently for an 03 with SelecTrac?

A lunchbox locker is a generic term for a locker that engages by itself by use of an internal planetary gear (or similar) when one wheel on the axle begins to spin. Selectable lockers engage when the push of a switch locks the gears either by an electronic servo or pneumatically.

    Detroit Lockers with Selectrac

WheelNut is absolutely correct. In a rear wheel drive vehicle, you are basically pushing the front wheels forward. They will roll freely. Yes, when you turn they will roll at different speeds, but different speeds does NOT engage the locker. Wheelspin engages the locker. You can not get...

What are my locker options currently for an 03 with SelecTrac?

Your idea of having a selectable in the front is good, but not entirely necessary. I've had Dana Truetracs in the front of most every Jeep I've had. It will only engage when a wheel spins, so you will always anticipate when it will engage. It does not negatively effect road manners or...

Hello, new here. I own a 2005 Jeep Liberty Limited. I hit a deer and damaged the driver side front end. What years will interchange, just 05-07 ?

I usually check an online parts dealer and compare part numbers from different years to see if they are the same or different. Regarding the parts that you will need, I believe that 05-07 will all work for you. The 02-04 have different parts, even the front fender.

I need help looking for a part

Here is a link. You will want to view diagram #2. The Y pipe should be very evident to you. https://www.moparpartsgiant.com/parts-list/2003-jeep-liberty/exhaust/exhaust_system.html?diagram=00i69675

    Grill Swap?

Does anyone know what is needed to swap the earlier, taller grill onto a later model? Obviously the grill and grill insert are needed, as well as a bumper cover and front fender flares. I'm assuming that the grill reinforcement header also is needed. Is the bumper itself different? And how about...

Great info. Thank you. And yes, the diesels are plentiful and very well supported here.

    European KJ question

Thank you. That was the information I was looking for. Do you happen to know if the 2.8 models in 03 and 04, before the VNT turbo, were only available as automatics?

    European KJ question

Actually I am in the market for both. I am founding a charity overlanding organization and we will purchase 5-6 KJs. We want to keep the engine the same for all so that we only have to carry parts for one type of engine. But the people we are gearing toward much prefer manuals. We will...

    European KJ question

I am searching the European market for a couple of KJs. I am seeking specifically the 2.8 CRD with a manual transmission. I am finding that the diesel KJs in Europe had the 2.5 up until 2003, and then switched to the 2.8, or at least that is how it appears. But I can find only 2.8 automatics...

    Hello from Italy

Bon Giorno. You have a great number of the CRDs in your country. I'll be visiting Italy after the war in Ukraine is over to collect a few for my organization in Ukraine.

Anyone know good trails in Michigan?

There is another off-road park near Howell that is pretty decent. Without lockers, the parks are a good place to start because there are plenty of others there to assist you if needed.

    Squatted jeep

Am I missing something here? If the springs being bad is the problem, wouldn't he have had that squat with the bad shocks too? If the squat only appeared with new shocks, my first suspicion would be that the shocks are too short.
