Some torque converters have a 1/8" npt plug around the edge somewhere. I don't know about the KJ.- u2slow

Definitely drain the transmission first. (Remove pan). Drain torque converter too, if possible. Otherwise you have a 95% chance of an ATF lake on the ground.- u2slow

Looking the upgrade my suspension on 2005 jeep liberty
Bilsteins aren't worth paying extra for IMHO. Ours had them on the rear and I went to Monroe's after lifting. On my Dodge, Bilsteins were no better than Rancho 5000's. YMMV. I put the slightly stiffer diesel (CRD) front coils in too. Mainly because I wanted something that wouldn't sag out as fast.- u2slow

Had the trans out within a day a few times. Usually takes longer to put it all back together. Thats working on a driveway or concrete floor... blocking, axle stands, jack, and a creeper sort of operation.- u2slow

I like the E-rating. Seem to get more miles out of them. Must be harder rubber. 245/75R16E is such a common size on fullsize trucks. When they are half done, I finish them off on my 3/4ton truck.- u2slow

Is there no way to tune the auto transmission shift points? Or some way to have selections beyond 1-2 and D? I regeared our 6spd's axles from 3.54 to 3.73 for the 245/75R16s and it's perfect. (Duratracs or Nokians depending on season.) When rolling heavy or on hills, it's just a matter of...- u2slow

What does Trail Rated add to a 2006 Sport?
'Sport' is the label when it's not a Limited or Renegade. It's not an upgrade; it's the default. Options (like V6, auto trans, etc.) were available on the Sport.- u2slow

Control arms lift kit
It's not consistent. I put 2.5" lift on at first and needed upper arms immediately. There wasn't enough adjustment for alignment. Wore a pair of new front tires crooked before the arms showed up.- u2slow

Sign of the times. Shop are not in business to be well-read on every vehicle. Price it at a CYA level, and get on with the more predictable work for other customers. Edit: they want/need their parts markup to make ends meet.- u2slow

IFS diffs vary quite a bit in their construction. Some can be very finicky to setup right, so shops either shoot high, or try to not take the job. (Chevy ones come to mind because they split in half.) Our Liberty ones are really straightforward IMHO.- u2slow

A locking axle in a 2wd does pretty good. I did that with my dodge pickup so it doesn't get stuck doing basic chores.- u2slow

As long as you stay in 2wd, it won't matter what the ratios are. I had the diff out for a whole summer, and had a 2wd-only KJ for the duration.- u2slow
