I gave up on the parking brake a couple years ago. It was good when I got the jeep 7 years ago, but it suddenly quit working. Heck, the pawl on one side is totally frozen and inoperable, anyways. Not a problem in the flat side of MN.
I put about 350 miles on the jeep between Wednesday and yesterday. I spent the night in Duluth, MN for some work stuff. In the morning, I took one of the main drags, except I was going up the hill. Duluth is right on Lake Superior, and “the hill” is where it goes from lake level to some if MN’s...
I changed the oil in Tuesday night, and I noticed spray residue coming from the radiator cap. So, I replaced the cap yesterday. I drove for 3 hours, and not a drip.
Good to know. I was sure to get stuff without the leak sealer in it.
My jeep took a puff and the compressor started short cycling. The gauge read good while the compressor ran, then cut to 0 after the compressor turned off.
My wife’s car has a hard leak up front. I could hear it hissing as I...
The AC is out on both my Jeep and my wife’s Mariner. I’ll be grabbing some refill canisters to start. If that doesn’t help, they’re going to the shop and getting sniffed.
It looks like you've already tried the 'fist to the center cap' method. It's a logical first step, yet unfortunately doesn't help a whole lot. good luck, buddy! Keep us posted.
We took my jeep to bring our niece back to her people today. We got 6” of snow last night, and our usual road down had not been plowed yet. So, we were stuck going 40-45mph since it was hard to tell what was road and what was ditch.
Also, I put the 100,000th mile of my ownership on the heep...
The whirring noise is still there. It comes on around 55-60mph. My buddy at work thinks it could be a bearing either in the transmission or the t-case. I’m hoping it’s not.
I crawled underneath to check fluids tonight, as I’ve had a whirring sound coming from the t-case area. That fluid looked brand new, and so did the tr@nny fluid. What I did find, was that the O2 sensor wire had draped themselves across the front output flange and had worn completely through, and...
