Right? :D
I haven't had to many issues with stuck bolts / nuts / fasteners, and being in AZ rust isn't really an issue. Now I know to hit a nut / bolt with PB Blaster before I go breaking tools and shit. Live and learn. :happy175:
I have the 3 ton Harbor Freight jack. I've had it about 2 years now and its been great. I got it on sale and then used one of the 20% off coupons; it was about $70ish. It lifts high enough to get the wheels of my lifted KJ off the ground. It lifts smooth and easy, and rolls around nice. No...
OK, so I didn't finish my task by the end of the day. :D. But got it finished today. Would have been a quick job if it wasn't 112° out. Got 'er pretty much buttoned up; just got to fix a head light issue I saw with everything a part (the head light bulb likes to rattle itself loose).
New...
Success!!! I work 12 hour days so the Jeep was on hold til my work week was over. I have been soaking the nut in PB Blaster every night after work. Finally had time this morning to work on my pile and boom got the nut off. I ended up putting the belt back on and all it took was a little tap on...
I have the stock skid plates and have abused them. All but the center skid have held up great (then I just replaced it with another Mopar skid for like $60 and it is still going strong). For what you plan on doing I would get some decent tires when the time comes and the stock skids. They are...
Just went to Napa a bit ago and bought this. And... Broke it. It had two nubs on the end so I put those in the pulley holes and broke one of the nubs off. Then used it to clamp the backside of the pulley with the other hook end in the pulley hole and it twisted and bent to shit.
Gonna go and...
OK so I'm replacing my radiator and water pump. Everything is going smooth until I get to the mechanical fan. Can't for the life of me get this thing off. I have been at it for the past two hours and have decided to give it up and see if anyone has any backyard hillbilly way to get this off...
I have went with the most cost effective option and it has left me stranded in the desert. Not fun. I couldn't find a non-Chinese unit cheaper than the Mopar one. The original lasted over 9 years in the AZ heat; fingers crossed the new one will too.
Ended up getting the radiator from the...
This is exactly what I don't want to do. The Mopar one only costs a few more bucks. My time and effort are worth that at least. :D
Good to know. Mopar it is.
Operational. I'm at 108k miles is this something that would be smart to replace while I have everything apart? I don't want to...
So the radiator in my ol' heep took a crap yesterday on my way home from work. Need to replace and am looking for opinions on what to buy. I've seen a few threads on here about people having to replace them multiple times, so I don't want one of those ones. :D
Napa has one for $160, RockAuto...
I live in a similar environment and it seems dark colored vehicles are always the ones with jacked up paint. My silver KJ has spent its whole life sitting in the sun and looks fine. My neighbor has a similar year black Dodge Durango and it looks like garbage.
Still seems premature for yours to...
I have the lights on my Renegade. I agree they look cool. Problem is they suck and I would be pissed if I spent $500 dollars adding one. The glare off the hood makes it almost useless. Also the stock bulbs don't throw light very far. The one good use for them is going slow over big obstacles...
I ended up using a pipe wrench. Same problem; couldn't find the proper tool to use. If you turn the steering wheel it'll extend the end far enough to get at it with a wrench. I know that doesn't answer your question but that's all I got. :D
Had another window regulator failure. This makes number 6. First front window though. I am sick of these damn things so I'm not fixing it. I rarely use the passenger front window anyhow.
So I took a piece of PVC and put a notch in it to hold the window, baloney cut on the other end with another...
Finally paid off the heep today. It has been 14 years since I haven't had an auto payment. Hopefully the Jeep hangs around awhile. Now to save up a bit to buy a beater DD to relagate the Jeep to wheeling and hunting only. Really want to pick up another Grand Marquis / Crown Vic / Town Car.
I usually check RockAuto first. They sell Moog parts. They can run 50% of the price of the same part from a parts store. I bought my inner TR from O'Riellys though. I needed the part and couldn't wait. X2 on what tommudd said; Napa premium parts are good to go as well.
