    P0201 Fuel Injector issue

The fuel injector is replaced and she runs! I let it idle up to temperature and revved the engine a few times and no issues. So far no more check engine light. I need to drive it around to know for sure. I also cleaned the throttle body and as far as I could reach into the intake while I had...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Can anyone recommend a good heat resistant wire loom that I can use in the engine bay? Most of my black plastic looms became brittle ages ago and have fallen apart, leaving wires exposed. I replaced them once before but the stuff from the auto parts store didn’t last.

    P0201 Fuel Injector issue

There are o-rings where the injector seals against the engine on the bottom and the fuel rail at the top. But in this case, the gas seems to be seeping out between the plastic housing and the electrical pins where the harness connects. There isn’t much I can do about that except replace the...

    P0201 Fuel Injector issue

I cleaned the gas out of the connector area and wiped down the contacts, and turned the key to engage the fuel pump. No additional leaks. Then I reconnected the electrical and started the Jeep. The Jeep ran well for less than a minute and started idling rough again. After turning it off, I...

    P0201 Fuel Injector issue

Following up this morning: The ground side of the connector is continuous with the correct pin on the PCM harness, so we can rule out wiring problems. The injector itself has 12 ohms of resistance, which is correct. However it has liquid in the connector. After work I’ll put the Jeep on “run”...

    P0201 Fuel Injector issue

This is probably the Jeep’s natural reaction to spending $70 on a tank of fuel minutes before…

    P0201 Fuel Injector issue

It’s not a great photo because it’s dark out, but you can see the fuel residue on the connector to injector #1. The connector to its neighbor, injector #3, is dry.

    P0201 Fuel Injector issue

Yes, that’s correct on the ASD and the PCM. And you’re right about Eric O. too! I’ve checked the power with the ASD energized and that works. To test the ground side I need to check continuity between the connector and the correct pin (#14) in PCM connector #2. I’m never excited to mess with the...

    P0201 Fuel Injector issue

Hi All, After loading up my groceries at ShopRite, I get in to drive home and get a check engine light, and the engine is running rough. My ScanGauge (and later JScan) indicated P0201, which is an injector issue on cylinder 1 (drivers front). The Scangauge showed 9999 mpg as I limped the Jeep...

What "while im in there" things should I be doing durring a valve cover gasket change.

While you have the valve covers off, check the amount of play between the rocker arms and the lifters (lash adjusters). If the lifters are collapsed because they are worn out and full of sludge, there will be obvious up and down movement between the lifter and the rocker arms. Occasionally this...

Starting issues after driving for a while

I don't know if the regulator is part of the pump assembly. I know the fuel filter is.

    2010 Jeep Liberty TIPM

I found your part number on one of the Mopar parts sellers, and it does come up as working for your 2010 Liberty. https://www.moparsupply.com/oem-parts/mopar-totally-integrated-power-module-4692297aj It should be compatible. But it probably has to be programmed by the dealer. Perhaps your...

    2010 Jeep Liberty TIPM

Hmmm, that is suspicious to have a 2020-manufactured unit in a 2010 Jeep. Perhaps Jeep has had so many TIPM problems over the years that they were still making them? I don't have a 2010 parts manual, but if you could get your hands on one, I would recommend checking the part number that would...

    Air in the coolant system.

I love that you own a DeLorean. Is yours the stock engine and transmission or have you swapped them with something more powerful? "Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads. I also have a Jeep."

Starting issues after driving for a while

It is a fuel pressure thing. Mine did this many years ago, and replacing the fuel pump fixed it. The short term fix when the engine isn’t starting is to turn the key to “run” instead of start for 5 seconds to let the pump build up pressure, then start it. My guess is the check valve in the pump...

    Help me understand HVAC

Maybe the mode door actuator was replaced at some point and not calibrated afterwards. Maybe the computer thinks you are going past the defrost setting, or floor/defrost, even though the knob is on something different? The compressor will run when in any defrost mode.

    Air in the coolant system.

I have an 08 so I don’t know if there is any change between 05 and 08 as far as the cooling system is concerned. When I tore the dash down to replace the heater core and repair the mode door, I had to refill the system and bleed the air out. The bleeder screw is seized shut on my engine, so I...

The new tires look good, @derekj. Are you planning on doing the 4.10’s yourself or hiring a shop?

Rear Upper Shock Mount Bushing Fix

This is correct, the Bilstein shock mounts are narrower than the Jeep’s rear mounting points. I’m using washers right now to shim them and it is working well. The key is to take up the space so the shock mounts will be clamped securely. If they have any room to move, you will have banging as the...

What did you do to your jeep today?

That’s interesting. Ok, if replacing the sensor has no effect, the next thing to check would be the continuity in the wiring. Maybe a wire is broken, rusted through, or grounding out.
