MOOG k80767 won't go in my 06 2wd is it possible the salvage spindle is different?

I can't find the old ball joint I took out on the planet. Can't get the MOOG to go in with a press from AutoZone

There are 2 different lower ball joint tapers, looks like you ordered the later one, I wonder if you needed the early one for a 2WD??

In my 06 kj I have always used k80767. . maybe the piece of hours into belongs to a earlier model

Okay, I JUST went through this. The issue is that these MOOG LBJ are "knurled" (splined) as opposed to smooth like the OEM. That means the MOOGs are about 0.5MM wider in diameter in the friction fit than OEM. This is intended for sloppy/old knuckles. If yours are in good shape then you are literally pressing/gouging splines into the cast iron spindle and you can't do that with a rented hand press (I tried with a 24" breaker bar for hours). Like many things on the Jeep, concede that this will need professional help - I assisted a shop with the install using a double jointed high pressure ball joint press to get these MOOGs in. Even with that tool, not super easy.
